I have this awsome 2 stroke in my snowmobile and was thinking how awsome it would be to have that 2 cylinder 2 stroke power in a 250r. We timed this machine and it's a shredder!!! 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds with an entirely stock 500cc engine. Pretty good if you ask me ESPECIALLY for having no gears The suspension was upgraded in factory to rocky mountain king edition suspension. It'd be interesting to see if i could fit that on a 250r swingarm. I would probably have to leave the centrifical clutch design the same as it would be odd to turn the engine into the transmission. I would think about using the same exaust and using it to put a footrest on. The biggest problems would be mounting the engine, finding somewhere to put the three radiators where they'll get enough wind to cool and stuffing the huge cooling and air intake system into the frame. But also remember that this engine isn't as tall as a stock 250r engine or even a 500r because it's a two cylinder and is wider. Here's a video of it running. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vDDxuIw62cs. Sadly i don't have any jumping or wheelie vids. Anyways here's some pics

Any thoughts?

ABORTION. Wouldnt even bother cutting a frame for it.

I'd trade you, but you're a little far away...
I could use a snowmobile...

yep haha that's what i thought. it's just that i love this engine! it just has so much raw power! if you put this into a three wheeler you'd be roosting away faster than even the 500r's i think. it'd be fun to try though.

Unless you only rode it at the drag strip, it would suck. You wanna go big, but rideable and reliable, use a cr500 motor.

If you think that thing go's like stink, try the Dragon 800, :beer

Well i know something bigger would go better, but i'm talking about in the 500cc range. I've ridden a dirt cr500 and it was still dang fast, but because this is a two cylinder and has more beefed up parts, a 3 to 1 gear racio and no shifting, it'll honastly accelerate faster and hit a higher topp speed.

i would do it man, im planning on using an older sled motor (smaller) in a trike at some point. if you want a badass 2 cylinder shove a banshee motor in, there thin, light and can make more power than any motor just depending on how big you go....

Sounds like an abortion to me. I don't get the thing with a shee motor when a 250r will out run it

a banshee can make over 100 hp fairly inexpensively, a 250r can never....

That's why i chose the polaris 500. it's a very short motor and it would only be bout as wide as the bottom end on a regular 250r engine. i'd just have to rig up a clutch guard so i wouldn't hit lit calf on the centrifical clutch.

one word: SABERTOOTH. only problem is, the 250r bottom end doesnt hold up to it for very long. if you could fab the 250r motor/sabertooth top end to, say, a CR500 tranny, or accomodate the cr500 cases to accept the sabertooth parts, you'd have an insane machine, albiet it would get costly.

oh, take a look at Erectordales E.T. trike. he did something similar, and the thing hauls ass.

Hmm. Maybe i would be willing to settle for something else, but i'd rather have this engine
