big red guy needs mo' powa' for the 27's

Ok the camo big red does great in the woods and trails. Looking for more umph for the 250. I want to know what mods I can do and who to go through to get the parts.

head over to highlifter.com There is a gearing swap that people do to lower the gearing on the 300 honda using a big red internal gear. There is also a gear lower that they u se that comes out of another bike. Post a thread up and someone will answer you ASAP about what bike it comes out of. Slipping my memory at the moment.

You could always do the trx300 engine swap and then go to a 380 bigbore with... trx300 has a lot of aftermarket if you know where to look.

The gearing idea sounds good, gonna check that one out. I am wanting to keep the stock engine for now. Maybe I can try to locate the trx 300 motor for the future. What years should I be looking for?

any years work 88-2000, just b sure to get the 2wd one. and the gear reduction is done using 300ex parts.

I know there are cams available, the good ones would probablt require high compression pistons though. Pipes are still available as well.
