I really can't be bothered with all the political Mumbo Jumbo, I just bend over and let them have at me  Are there ever really ANY good candidates anyhow??

Anyhow, if we were to get some nationwide health care coverage, what would happen to the money YOUR paying now? Would it go in your check?

I have some hard working friends paying about 120$ a week for a family plan and another 3$ an hour sure would help them out.

In the union, we pay almost 9$ PER HOUR for health care alone, some people don't even make 9$ an hour......

Instead it will come out of your taxes. I think they are throwing around 3-4k a year per family. Which that equals about what i am paying now for insurance. So there is no change financially speaken. But since healthcare will be regulated, your care level will go down. A long wait for a DR appointment, a longer wait for a live saving surgery if you even qualify to get it. They look at life expectancy and what you contribute. If you are 60, retired and get cancer. You get sent to a hospice. No treatment for you because you are no longer benefitting the goverment. just wait to die.

So instead of paying my insurance premium and get the best care in the world i will be sending that money to pay for everyone elses healthcare and the goverment to regulate it for sub par care.

So you pay almost $20,000 a year for health insurance.......whoa... I think you need to ditch the union insurance carrier and get your own. It is much cheaper that way.

I have read about so many horror stories in other countries where they have this. Someone will get cancer that is treatable. They then get told it will be a year before they can start treatment. Then the cancer is not treatable so they just wait to die with no treatment...... It is murder by american standards.

^ We can't ditch it. It's all part of the "package" which amounts to <>60$ an hour give or take and then the insurance and a few other things come off the top.

I'm new to this, but I imagine it's why every friggen guy in the union has a 40K$ truck and works half the year, gets laid off the other half.....

I never asked to be overpaid, I just wanted a fair wage with good benefits. I don't necessarily agree with how unions operate.

IDK what will happen to the "package" if universal health care comes into play. But by what your saying Barry, that all sounds horrible.... As it stands I have phenominal health insurance that I wouldn't want to trade for garbage.

Thats part of the reason for joining up (and believe me, I was very lucky to get in!) my boss had it set to 50$ doctor co-pays and 150$ ER visits with with prescriptions off the hook. My Albuteral (for asthma) was 35$, in the union it's 2.50$ but it sounds like were due for yet another F'n..........

So it sounds like yet another way for the government to regulate us and force us to pay more takes......... AWESOME!!! How long till they tax us for being dead and get it from our immediate family??

Barry_man- C'mon man. You really think you're gonna get denied a "life-saving" treatment and left to die?

People over 65 are already on gonvernement health care. Its called Medicaid/Medicare.

I currently pay my whole premium. 16k a year. I'm getting hosed.

And this is the USA so I wouldn't compare whats happening here with Canada or anywhere else.

People fear change. Its natural. Change is good here. We need it.

Wow, have you read the bill????????? Obviously not. Please read it then comment. It is the exact same care that is other countries but a tad worse. Ask yourself, why does millions of people come to america for health care? I guess it is because there system is great???? I am scared of change, especially if it will cost me more money and damage my kids future. Why do you think that the same will not happen here? It did in every other country. I know Obama is your savior but please do a bit of research before you comment.

I do not know to much about unions. But are you forced to take there healthcare? you cant opt out? If not, welcome to Obama care. You are living what we all fear. No choices and outragous prices. 20k is the highest price insurance i have ever seen.

Thank you Barry Mann. People seem to forget at times the only way the gov can "provide" anything is by taking from us in the first place.

If the gov becomes a competitor with all other health care providers they will put everyone out of business. When an entity (the gov) does not have to worry about making a profit, the rest of the market cannot compete. This will put real heath care providers out of business.

Also unions are another form of socialism. Instead of being represented by your own hard work and talents, you are represented by the collective total. It allows under performers to fly under the radar. Why not, there are not any real repercussion if you don't do a great job, or any real reward if you do.

It all boils down to self responsibility.

No have not read it word for word.

You bring up a good point though... Now millions of people won't be coming here for health care. Like you said it will be worse than what other countries have. So thats good right?

It will be different here because this is the USA.

So Obama is my savior?

I don't need your permission to comment in any thread thank you.:welcome:

You have all this faith in a Gov that runs Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Public schools, the Post office, and our budget? All of them are broken or well on there way to be broken.

This is not some partisan rant either. Both parties are guilty of wrecking them. Everything the gov does becomes overly bloated with bureaucracy and waste. We the people can run our lives and take care of our needs better than anyone else can. If you think differently then you are not taking control of your own life, instead allowing someone else to make YOUR decisions.

Sorry, thats not American.

The idea of a Union is good, workers band together to fight bad working conditions. What the unions are Nowadays is quite pathetic really. the UAW is one of the worse.

(not aimed at you personally SeaBass)

That's wishfull thinking right there. What the "USA" used to mean and what socialists are turning it into are vastly different.

Example: There was a time when Americans would fight, suffer, and die to determine their own destinys.

Now, we vote for, and welcome socialism and fascism with open arms.

What ever happened to "Live free or die"? Nothing the government stretches it tentacles into comes without a price and controls.

Once upon a time you could hear "This is America ....love it or leave it".
Now we embrace Marx and Musollini doctrine and say "This is America".

I say "Is it?"

I wasn't in the union one week and I recognized something:

You can be a genius, a wizard and awesome at your job. And other guys who can barely read or write, let alone MEASURE, make the same exact money........

If thats not a flawed system, IDK what is.

I use to be able to be creative, now it's like "ductwork for dummies". The pay is so high that I don't think 90% of the workers even care to be creative or take pride in there work.
