I realize it won't be a rocket or anything, but I have a spare roller Z from my Ban-Z swap and there's an XT500 for sale around here on the cheap. Has anybody tried to put the XT500 engine into a Tri-Z frame? I was going to drop in the YZ490 engine, but someone beat me to the bike I was after.
Thanks,
-Jed

Go test ride the XT500...after you twist the wrist and blow thru some gears....You'll change your mind....YZ 400 and 426f's 99 to 02' are on the edge of NO VALUE in resale. I would rather look in that direction for 4stroke power...You might be able to find a great deal on a spare motor from an ex-racer

Yeah, I know they are slow, just wanting to do something with my frame that is different. Just looking to see if anyone has even tried fitting one in to see if it's close. Kinda like my Ban-Z, I'm sure I could build a 250 engine that would be faster, but the banshee will be different. Thanks,

Another YZ490 popped up around here, so I might look back into that. The XT was in too many pieces to make it an easy deal...
