I third Echo
The old man has had his stihl for the last 18 or so years, Finally put a spark plug and cleaned the carbon out of the pipe last year, Would say it was a good buy.

I do like the ECHO and the ECHO leaf blower too.
My Ryobi 4 stroke does the trick for 100$. Would I rather have a 2 stroke? HELL YES!! That frucking string never lasts no matter how I wind it what X brand or other I purchase. I just put a steel blade on the end of the shaft and have a ball.............

own a lawn and landscape company and ive pretty much ran all the top brands and currently have stihl, echo, redmax and i prefer the stihl 4mix it uses 2 stroke fuel mix but 4 stroke motor. believe me i luv 2 strokes but it nice ru nning a weedeater and not have to run it at full trottle and still have plenty of power where you have to have the 2 stroke screaming.

Vegetation Killer.... No need for a weedwacker!

i own a lawn care company, and can not stand stihl handhelds, especially four mix machines. Way to many little parts to screw up.
Go buy either an echo or a shindiawa. Both make very good smaller machines, that are commercial quality. Also buy from a dealer, not home depot. Price on echo is the same, plus you have a dealer backing you for service.

Go with a 2 stroke for sure.....if you dont, you will regret it.

I bought a Shindaiwa with a brain head in 1992, still runs like a champ.

My buddy has one of those sthil 4 stroke things..
At idle it will cut down corn stalks..;)
It is heavy, but it cuts!
Hands down the meanest weed / small tree whacker I have ever seen or used.:p

I have a ECHO and I am happy with it. I have 7 lawns a week I mow and I use it on everyone and it works very well. I would recommend a straight shaft one and one that has a bump head to release more string. I have used one where you put pre-cut pieces in the end and use it and once the string wears downs which could be hitting one thing you have to change the string or suffer with less line out.

STIHL FS 80 PRO....it's the bottom of the Commercial Grade, which is pleanty for adverage Joe. You can get the interchangible gear like the edger and extended prunner chainsaw for it. At close to $400 bones and No free hat it is a tuff buy...I love mine no problems...I actually just replaced just the bottom slap plat(not the entire head) $12 with the metal feeder do-hickies that slide right into place(for that perfect feed).

my brother bought a ryobi from home depot, 30cc i think?? with the metal cutter it couldnt be stopped, had more than enough power...but, he hit a rock with it, sheared the flywheel key, which is one cast piece with the flywheel, been having trouble locating a replacement too

I was gonna suggest a Husquvarna, I have a straight shaft one and love it. However you cant go wrong with stihl.

Ive had many little weed wackers over the years, and theres really not much that can go wrong with them. I have a husky 223l or something along thoes lines now and it works great for the ditches around the house or whatever else needs trimmed

I would have went with the Husky. You live in Holland and probably can throw a rock from your house and hit williamsville welding. Should have went over and seen Al there. He's a husky dealer. Bet it would have been the best deal in town.
