My other hobby..... I buy, sell, keep, collect- I don't know what it is, but I love collecting and rebuilding saws as much as I love being out in the woods cutting. You guys will have to check out more info on the McCulloch (161cc), I have it on Fleabay at the moment, but don't know if it will sell or not.
I was at the right place at the right time on some of these... I did my best to buy out a Stihl dealer that went out of business :).

That is a cool saw collection!

Here is mine, nothing fancy, just a regular ole husky 55 rancher. But it has held up several years and been a great saw! Only issue I've ever had with it was caused by this crap ethanol infused fuel! lol

Dude, how much yo want for that McCulloch? Or at least, how can I find the listing? I need a big saw and I like the oldies.

EDIT: I just found the listing, didn't realize it's a two-man. May be a bit too big.

It is more of a bucking saw than anything. The head swivels so that you can drop trees with it, but I wouldn't want to if I didn't have to! The powerhead alone weighs in at 50 lbs....
Every once in a while, when I get in the mood to impress my wife- I hold it up and act like I'm cutting with it. I'll even make engine noises if the mood is right haha.

Waterpumper, I know what you mean about this ethanol B.S. It is pretty hard on these 2 strokes that weren't designed to run with it. Ohio is one of the few states that doesn't regulate ethanol content in their fuel either. I just make sure that I run mine dry when I am finished with them, and run Stabil whenever they are going to sit for a couple months. Husky 51's are fine saws!

Is that a Homelight Super XL in the 2nd pic? Looks like it, we have 5 of them...I love those saws!

We also have a Husky 350, and a 455 Rancher.

That one is actually an EZ Automatic. Right on, there is something special about the old Homelite saws. They have a classic car look or something to them. I actually bought that one to sit on my fireplace mantle, and as you could guess- my wife was enthused lol.

Heres mine. First one is a Stihl 026, Olympic 251 made in Italy, McCulloch 610, Pioneer 750, and a Root. I mess with them a little bit too. All of them I got from work when they use to have dumpsters. People would throw them away, and I was right there to pick them up :w00t: . All of them needed minor fixes to get them running. To bad they took the dumpsters away  . I have a few other ones like sears and Homelite.

Disston made a handful of saws. One of the cool things about Disston two man chainsaws- they were twin cylinders. Not sure if they all were, there are some cool Disston vids on youtube.

Just sold the McCulloch this week, 200 bones. Not what I wanted, but still made out ok I guess.

A guy from Cincinnati drove up gere and picked up the Mac today. I really didn't want to see it go, but man did that thing take up a lot of room. I figure that the cash I got out of it will take up less space  .

I will have to post up some pictures of my 031AV. Yeah I have quite a few bigger saws, but there is just something special about an 031 to me. I actually have 2, an AV and an AVE. My dad gave me his that he bought new, which I will never sell- and at the same sale I picked up the Mac, I also picked up two 031's- one of them which I sold.

Imagine that - I see kids, logs, tents and a saw.

And EDOG see's a MANS ASS

Nice saws guys!!, IDK why you need so many but I'm sure it's like anything else when you collect it be it ATC's, guns, girls or chainsaws :D

Now that I've cleared most everything off of my lot and the track, I use my 24V cordless Ridgid Sawzall for all my needs. She's quiet, cuts very nice and doesn't need oil/gas or the chain tightened.

The truth is, my 100$ McCullough saw (plastic, newer JUNK) lasted a couple hundred trees but the crank and it's journals create a lean condition so it's good for one fire now until it heats up and you kill it. I guess I should be happy that I got my 100$ out of it, it's a POS and thats being nice to it.

I'd LOVE to have a nice Stihl or Husky saw though................

I have an older McCullogh 610 that I freekin Love!!! It always starts the same way, not moody LOL. Other than the recoil housing coming loose a couple times It has never failed me. It has the same plug In It from the day I brought It home. It has kept my House and my barn warm for the last 5 years!!! I just keep feeding It sharp chains and she keeps on running. It has a manual bar oiler that I don't mind at all!!!

I have a friend that owns a tree service, I was bragging up my 25.00 610, and he pulls out a Pro Mac 850 with a 36" bar and handed It over. The 850 Is one Mean Dude LOL. It has a compession release to make starting easier, and Runs Sweet also.

I would like to have a new saw, but just can't see spending the money when these run so damn good :D :D

I'll have to get a picture in the morning. Last fall, I bought a Stihl 029 Super from a guy my wife works with for $200. He had it for 8 years or something like that with very little use. I think in the last 4 times I've gone out to cut wood, I've used it more than he did. It starts easily and runs like a champ.

Weeeeeird........ I just bought an 029 Super yesterday at my local chainsaw shop. I had just dropped off my 064av, and was on my way out the door when I saw it. It looks like it is brand new, doesnt even look broke in.
What did I pay for it? 200 bucks.

Mopar Man, please tell me that you hit the lottery, .

I've got a bunch of older saws, and a few newer ones, but the main one I use is my Dolmar 7900. 79cc and very powerful, the muffler has been modded and it just absolutely rips. It sports a 24" GB titanium bar right now and 3/8 chisel full comp chain, I've burried the bar in some 30+" oak like it was bucking some pine.

I run a processor daily. Thats my spare chain saw its a 290. I normaly run a 044. The processor runs off a 40hp diesel tractor by pto. The bar is 24 inch 404 chain.

You mean these things?? From left to right, husky 288xp, old skool husky 480cd, stihl 440 times two, another 480, and an 066 on the end. Ive also got 2 other stihl 044's in my cabinets awaiting parts, also got a cpl other small rats somewhere in the garage. Best bang for you buck in my opinion has always been a stihl 044, unfortunately they dont make them anymore.......I despise the newer huskys, they break way too easily, especially the tank mounts.

I wouldn't mind having that 480cd. I have you licked with my MAC 7-55 though haha. I did look at an ever elusive 298XP the other day, just decided I didn't need it.
How do you like that 066? I love my 064, couldn't force myself to sell that saw.. I bet you feel the same way about your 066.
Shoot me a price on the 480 if you would ever want to part with it.
Keep up the pictures guys, I'm not on much- but eat this stuff up when I get the chance. Take care and safe cutting.....

480's are a torky saw, i mainly use it to buck hitches in the landing. They pop up on ebay from time to time for fairly cheap. Thats the era that husky actually made decent stuff.

Here's mine finally. It's an older (late 90's I think) Stihl 029 Super. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done for what I need it for (firewood).

i dont have any pics of mine at the moment, but il see what i can do in the next couple days. I have a Husky 357xp (love it), Husky 350, old Husky 35 (awesome limber) and a couple of old Homelite Super xl's. you know, the little tiny ones. I will be adding to my saw stable in a few weeks (tax time yay!) and getting a new Husky 372xp.
