Now is the time to RUNNNNN!!!!!!!!!

Just joking, i have been with my girl since 96 and we finally got married 3 years ago. We never got married cause we heard it changes things. Which it does..... which isnt a bad thing all the time. Congrats and i hope everything works out for you.

Well... As my uncle Jerry always said... "Your aunt and I have been happily married for 20 years... And 20 out of 40 isn't too bad!!!"

Marriage doesnt change things that much, but holy crap, having a kid sure does! Congrats man...

Congratulations! If you both enter marriage with the original mindset of that it's a lifetime commitment and there is no turning back, then it will last. If both or one of you is the type to give up or take the easy way out, then I can pretty much bet on that it won't last long. The problem with alot of folks these days is the instant gratification factor. If something isn't what you planned on, it's easy to just ditch it and move on and shrug off responsibility or blame someone else. If you wreck something theres easy ways to get another one. I feel depressed when I think of todays youth, I mean, just look at em! That whole "emo" subculture that everyone bitches about is the parents fault. The world is flooded with the next generation of disaffected youths growing up in broken homes in a throwaway society. I don't blame em for being depressed and hopeless.
Sorry guy, not trying to bring ya down, just trying to put things in perspective for ya. Marriage is wonderful if you both are truly commited and it's better for the kids too. My best wishes too you. Divorce should not be an option AND SHOULD NOT BE AS EASY AS IT IS, except for the most extreme of circumstances, otherwise it's BS! It warms my heart to see old couples still holding hands and to see my parents in their old age, still in love with each other despite all they been through.

First serious post by bunnyhop! Lol

I agree completely though. My grandparent would have made like 64 years on the 13th is my mawmaw hadn't lost her fight to cancer. It's crazy though, the old lady and I could get married today, and just making it to 40 years would be an achievment.

Marry for love... Nothing else.

Marrage is for love of eachother, and forever. Nothing else. I hate all that mushy crap, but I agree with you bunny. I too see 'old' couples and pray we make it that happy that long.

ps we had to move it up to May 1st cause that was the only time the hall we wanted was open, well that or may 7th, and may 9th is fishing opener so nooo way.
