Off the top of my head I think the Raptor is the best selling sport quad. For utility I'm not sure. I know the Honda Rancher and Polaris Sportsman are big sellers.

we are mainly looking at sport.
We are working on outting together a top end turbo setup for those models w/programable ECU, and such. when completed the goal is a bolt on kit with little to NO fab work needed depending on model and yr. our MSRP price range is aiming for about $4,500 for the low end kit that will give the 700-800cc model a boost to 100-110 wheel power. The goal is on stock setup + our bolt on parts. we will then work on a mid grade and full race setup with pricing ging up from there. The kids will have options like electronic Dash with details specs in real tiume as well as logging and review or data (when enabled). it'll tell you mph, rpm, boost, water, oil, and so on. all the things needed to know for a performance vehical. Keep in mind this kit is being designed not jsut by ATV enthusest, but also by automotive performance specialsts whom specialize in Turbo charged jpanese engines. So there's a lot of years of expirnece there. We are going to get the final details drawn up and start contacting the local dealers for info on what they recommend as well as interests for offering the kits.

If you're making turbo's, I think you should be looking at the quads that are the most popular for drag racing and other suchlike applications. The one that stands out the most is probably the Banshee, then. But that's a 2-stroke model...

I knwo about the banshee, but those as 2-strokers. I also think they are no longer made. I'm wanting to stick to 4-strokers with FI systems.

Again off the top of my head, the sport quads with fuel injection are:

Kawasaki KFX450R
Suzuki LTR450
Suzuki LTZ400 (2009+)
Yamaha Raptor 700
Yamaha YFZ450R (notice 'R' version only)

There could be others I'm missing but I believe KTM, Polaris and Honda 450s are all carb. Fuel injection is just starting to make it's way into the mainstream with quads.

i think there have been a ton of 400ex sold, they would be the perfect quad to turbo. Everyone has one, still making them, and there a Honda, gonna last forever doesnt get much better. So tons of people would buy a turbo kit if it was simple to install.

4500 seems kinda steep dontcha think? I mean you can get a comparable system for some cars cheaper then that. Im looking at turboing the NINJA-Z and I dont plan on spending over 500 when I do.. I think 4500 will scare a bunch away... You also have to remember the people that might buy that sytem also most likely have the knowledge to build there own at more then half the cost. I think rethink this way cheaper where an average joe can buy it install it and run it and I think it would do alot better.

My advice: Forget about quads and go for Side by sides (like the RZR, Rhino, whatever Kawi is calling theres)

Swet! thanks guys!!! It'll be a while, but it gives us a direction to go now.

btw, this will be a real project.

We looked at side by sides, but most people are not tweakign them up as much as the performance quads.
