Here's a few pics of my 1999 Seadoo Speedster. It's got twin 787cc Rotax 2 Stroke engines that put out 110 H.P. each. It does about 52MPH on smooth glass water on GPS. I'm the original owner, try to keep it as clean as possible. I have rebuilt both engines with in the last 2 years and ditched the oil injection. I beleive the one motor was plagued from day one with oil delivery issues, so after 3 rebuilds on the port side motor, I figured to ditch the oil injection and run pre-mix. I just brought it home from my dads to winterize it so I figured I'd snag some "trailer" pics. Only other changes I have done is upgrade the standard galvanized wheels to some aluminum 5 stars, and LED tail lights and rear over 80 lights. I love the boat, all I do off the back is Tube, water ski, and knee board( I catch my fish in the store:lol: ). I've been riding seadoos since 1993. Anyone else have a jet boat?

A good friend of mine used to have an older jet boat with a Buick in it, poor thing never saw the water, cool boat though. Another guy we know had a jet boat that he used to drag race, blown 460 with nitrous, it would honk at over 100MPH, it was disgustingly fast. Almost every car that guy owned had a worked 460 in it with the juice, pays to work at the speed shop!

We've got a 1998 Sea Doo Sportster 1800, same motors, I think mine is rated at 90hp a piece. Nice boats, love ours. They are hard to keep clean!

Thanks MonroeMike

Nice boat Travex--- if it has 787's in it they should be rated @ 110 hp ea.--looks clean to me, still has that new shine.

Raffa, those exciters are nice, don't see too many of them, then again I've only seen my exact boat on the water one other time. I'm engrained on the Bombardiers. I started out on an early single cylinder ski-doo, and moved up to blizzard 5500's and now have a moto-ski supersonic 340 liquid sled. When I got into jet skis I went straight to the sea-doo's. In 96 when I bought my first brand new ski it was an XP, just can't shake the attraction, next boat will be a mastercraft or something of the sort, SBC with EFI(once I hit the lotto).

Here's one for you Raffa twin GP1300's in an exciter:drool:

I dislike jet boats for the simple fact that they are inefficient. if that boat had just ONE 110 HP outboard, it would do 70-80 EASY.

70-80 on the water takes some power. It would depend a lot on the hull design and size. 110 on a skiff maybe. Once u get it up to plane and it is nearly an aircraft . My favorite are the offshore race boats. The ones with one guy on the throttle and another steerin and maybe a navigator....looks crazy fun.

My best buddy has a Boston Whaler jet boat, twin cylinder 2 stroke. It's so simple and easy to work on.... Unfortunately it fouls plugs and I know how he is so I won't look at it.

Ever have someone you try to help and even if successful the person complains about something? (that would be his wife ) so I stay clear!!

Regardless, it's just a little boat for about 4 people max but it's super fun, quick and like driving a jet ski! He got it for 5K 10 years ago with the trailer in near new condition, the owners wife (another gem I assume ) got it in the divorce and promptly sold it up because he liked it!!

NICE BOATS GUYS!!

ive been around boats a long time. we have a 12 foot inboard jet boat, its a jetstar 1250. its fun, good for about.....25 mph. we used to have a 12 foot aluminum boat with a little 8 horse merc outboard, and it rwould run circles around the 50 horse jetboat. just saying, jets are inefficient as heck.

Jetstars we're made in the late 80's and had a 798cc Suzuki with 1/2 the hp of one of my 787CC rotax engines---Seadoo technology was way beyond Ultranautics when they re-released the seadoo SP(sitdown) in 1988(Ultranautics also made the WETBIKE, made famous by Police Academy the Movie). Not knocking your boat, but we're not apples to apples. I'm, not saying Jets are the best, but for my particular area's I like to go into, an outboard is a hassle, I've seen my share of chunked lower units and demo'd props! My boat is 220HP, technically it's a total combined of 72HP rated at the pump output(thrust), so yes there is substantial loss of power. I'm getting a boat just over 1600 lbs(less bodies), with 40 gallons of gas on plane in the blink of an eye, and topping off @ 52 MPH shortly there after, not to shabby for a boat that seats 5. Skiier's (Me, 225 lbs, insert fat joke here) are up in under 60' (65' rope, up before the whitewash). New seadoo jet boats now 10 years newer than my boat have been coming stock supercharged, 4 feet longer and 430HP(almost double what I have) so as to compare your jetboat, 10 years older than mine, I'm light years technology wise beyond yours, and the new seadoos and yammis are many lightyears beyond mine. Technology changes.Just my .02 :D Not trying to turn this into a bash thread or rant thread, just wondering who else is into jetboats, there seems to be people into an eclectic mix of hobbies on here.:beer

Lol, never said it was anyhting special, but 50hp is 50 hp, be it from 300cc or 700cc. Jet boats are great in shallower waters, but you stick the same HP to a prop, and your haulin major ass. i couldnt imagine a modern jet ski attached to a prop.......

I had a 1977 Taylor SS for many years, it had an blown olds 455, berkley pump ( cant remember the size ) and would haul. But it was a money pit and had no purpose but to look cool. I sold it in the late 90's for mint and bought a malibu. Havnt looked back since.
