My brother had a 70's ATC 110 back in the day. It was a good machine, but the points/condensers were always problematic.

I'm looking at purchasing a mid 80's ATC 110, but I want to make sure it has CDI ignition.

Can anyone tell me what the first year the ATC 110 had CDI ignition? From what I can tell it was 1983 model, but I am not sure.

Thanks for the info!

Great, thanks for the reply rdlsz24.

Were there any significant changes to the ATC 110 between 1981 and 1985 that would make a 1985 more desirable than an 1981?

I've found a nice 1981 model and a 1985, but the 1981 seems in better shape for the same price. Wondering if there would be a reason to go for the 85 like different transmission, brakes, plastic or anything? Did they both have steel gas-tank or did the 85 have a plastic tank?

Thank you kindly for your help!

Main differences are just appearance, as they were redesigned for 83. They would have pretty much the same engine, tranny, etc. Both have steel tanks. Personally I like the look of the pre-83 ones better, because they look like a small 185s.
