85 spare motor for a 87 tecate.... Doesnt sound like a good deal to me...

i didnt see a keyed ignition so i doubt it is an 87 but ya never know

Well mine is half and half (86/87) but I do know that those rims arent 87's. They came with the rolled edges on them like mine have. I also have a key switch but dont have a bracket so I will have to mod one. That sucker needs some work before its worth that much and some stickers too hehe.

looks like it has a fantastic tank specimin on there!! there is no chain, chain sliders, oil in the tranny, etc. A little time spent restoring the pipe would have been time well spent I think. Looks like a great start to a great bike!!
