Picked this up last night. Sold my Colt Defender for $900, only had $700 into it. Decided that i needed something more practical for what i do.
This is a North American Arms .22 mag, 5 shot, single action only, with interchangeable cylinders for 22 long or 22 mag.
Not a bad deal for $220.
At least i don't think so

Good price...I love the NAA 22's. I had a 22 Short in a belt buckle, it was a good conversation starter and acurate to about 10 feet.
Be carefull with sweaty hands and the 22Mag its a handful. :D

Good point i have a taurus tracker 44mag i can conceal and hunt. However his 22 is a piece of cake to carry. As long as there isnt any ok corral action going down, which probably wont, that thing is awesome.

shooting those are flat out scary. I won't lie.

if you hold it with your other finger laying behind the midway point of the cylinder it isn't so bad.

hold it in front of the cylinder and prepare to lose some flesh

Haha NICE! And I thought I got a small gun with the Springfield Micro Compact .45 I bought last week lol. I paid a little more than 220 for it too lol....

I can't complain. I do security full time, and it's not a gun that I'm gonna use to stop someone from shooting back at me, it's something that if i get into a situation where I cannot defend myself or do not have any source of backup I will use it to stop whatever I am being threatened by.
It will penetrate bulletproof vests, it will penetrate your skull, and it will make you stop and say ow.

...since when will a .22 mag out of a super snubby go through kevlar or plate?

I've had the unfortunate pleasure of catching two .22 bullets via richochet in the chest...it's an ow factor for sure.

I almost bought one of those a while back. I probably still will some day. That .22 mag round isn't anything to laugh at, its got some pretty serious snot behind it.

I've seen that before, It's because whatever he shot at is less than 100 yds away

As far as out of a snub nose, not sure. But i know .22 mag will penetrate kevlar.

22 mag in either RN or HP will penetrate 95 % of ballistic kevlar ALL DAY LONG.

I am so glad I didn't get hit in the tit with .22 mag.....

out of a snubby how much velocity can that thing have? I'm now very curious about the little round. I'm still however in love with 9x25mm....why that cartridge never caught on is beyond me.

as far as i know, the only reason 9mm didn't catch on was because a cop somewhere shot someone ten times (I Think). the guy never went down, he stopped around a corner and shot the cop dead as he came around the corner.
It won't knock someone down, and doesn't fly really fast.

RN or HP? Whaddat?

um....9x19mm is about the most popular handgun cartridge in the world. lol. and no handgun round is a sure kill...rifle either. SHOT PLACEMENT, SHOT PLACEMENT, SHOT PLACEMENT! but carrying that little .22 mag I'm sure you're aware of shot placement.

I've got rounds for the .40 that have dynoed out my gun at over 1700fps...that's fast....REALLY fast.

They came out with a 9x25mm a few years back for competition use that was cranking out 2300fps and over 800ft/lbs. just never caught on. made a .357 look like a childs round.

but james, you've officially got my attention with the .22 mag round....I wasn't aware the ballistics were quite THAT good.

RN or HP? Whaddat?

Round nose or hollow point. That is the shape and form of the business, brotha.

The point being, Either one will F**k up a standard ballistic panel.

Cheers.

Careful out there, everyone..........

You... being worried about not being able to protect yourself?? Haha, even if I did have a gun on me and I got into a confrontation with you I'd still run away....I'd be afraid the gun wouldn't do any damage to your big ass....lol.

I'm talking if its more than 3 v 1
I've defended myself 2 on 1 and beat the hell out of 3 people, but one of these times, Karma will catch up to me.
