Yeah, we are hosed out here in California, between all of the tax hikes and this healthcare BS, don't know how I'm going to do it. What a bunch of schmucks up there in DC. "Blue Dog" democrats and "Moderate" Republicans are just as guilty if not more so, because they are too willing to compromise their morals too keep their seat.

Well just wait, this administration has only been in office a year...hope I'm wrong but..........

This administration is just a continuation of the "problem". The problem pre-dates Obama by decades(if not more than a century), and the problem will continue no matter who's in the White House or in Congress next election cycle. I see them both as a ride on two trains going the wrong direction.....one may get you to the wrong destination faster than the other, but you'll still wind up in the wrong place either way.

Even though I'm more conservative than most true conservatives, I actually prefer Obama's "in your face/straight up" socialism to the somewhat quieter/sneakier tactics of power-grabbing of a Republican like Bush Jr.. At least the obvious overstep is easier to see and seems to mobilize Liberty-loving folks better.

Today's mainstream democrats/republicans are both cogs in a warped wheel.

How is the democratic party not being sneaky??? Have you seen some of the BullSh*t they have been sneakily been throwing into bills? Some from the man himself(obama). I wonder whats in the 1,900 pages of the health bill. The man(obama) is loosing approval ratings every time he speaks or one of his lackeys speaks to the public(Biden, Pelosi, Hilary and Bill Clinton). They have so little support that they have resorted in starting the votes for the health bill right now. Also, back to main thread, If you don't pay there $15,000 coverage plan, its 5 years in the slammer. "Don't drop the soap.." The whole shootings at fort hood thing pissed me off, That Many People Died At A Military base? Are you trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro serous? Where are the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro guns? Oh, This looks great in our already depressing outlook to world, Headlines: "USA Can't Defend Themselves From Themselves!"

lol, conservative route seems to me like they have there head on straight. The deomcrap's and republicant's can go screw each other. Neither side is right! Liberals are democrats now, The republicans are now the Democrats, And Conservatives are the new republicans. The democrats that do stand up for themselves and disagree are immediately shunned from the main party. Republicans are simply well, dumb. Enough said. Bush signed the bill permanently banning 3 wheelers and youths from riding dirt bikes, and only 2-3 other republicans disagreed. Both sides are for government control... Some ideas from liberals aren't at all bad, its how they want their ideas pushed on to the public.

Point taken on democrats=sneaky with most of their tactics. I should clarify that I meant that (as a matter of personal perspective...I reckon), as far as past perception goes, I expect democrats/liberals to openly stand for things that I strongly disagree with. In the Reagan years, and somewhat-so in the Clinton years, republicans seemed to be for strong defense and otherwise smaller government. Past is past, though, and I guess what I expect from either party is a bit antiquated.

The dems have been very sneaky, but I expect that, so such behavior doesn't stand out to me.

When the party of Reagan increases federal power and spending by Presidential Directive and middle of the night measures, it's still a let-down to me(not that I have the illusion that republican=Constitutional Liberty or Constitutional limits on government nowadays).

And....you are most definitely correct, both sides are for more government power and their own personal careers.

quote " H.R. 3962 provides that an individual (or a husband and wife in the case of a joint return) who does not, at any time during the taxable year, maintain acceptable health insurance coverage for himself or herself and each of his or her qualifying children is subject to an additional tax.”

- - - - - - - - - -
If the government determines that the taxpayer’s unpaid tax liability results from willful behavior, the following penalties could apply…”
- - - - - - - - - -

Prosecution is authorized under the Code for a variety of offenses. Depending on the level of the noncompliance, the following penalties could apply to an individual
misdemeanor willful failure to pay is punishable by a fine of up to $25,000 and/or imprisonment of up to one year.
felony willful evasion is punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or imprisonment of up to five years "

Looks to me like a liecence to print money. They decide if you have adequate cover, so most of you won't, then they can fine you what they like ?
One initial problem, you can't just lock up all the poor people :wondering Ever heard the phrase "who police's the police"
