Jose Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or
$31,200.00 per year. Jose Illegal pays no taxes. Jose Illegal now has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for
his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Joe Legal now
has $24,031.00.

Jose Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and
local clinics at a cost of $0.00 per year. Jose Illegal still has
$31,200.00.

Joe Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or
welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per
year. Joe Legal now has $18,031.00.

Jose Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps
and welfare. Jose Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Joe Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Joe

Yea ,but you don't pay for healthcare. Think about it this way. With me not working right now and Dawn being the sole provider, If she gets injured, not only would the hospital bills kill us but her being out of work would bankrupt us.
Alot of people are probably one injury away from bankruptcy.

its wows me how pathetic our country can be...My uncle flys back n forth to china an he told me in china you only pay taxes ONE TIME when you own a home unlike her in the "land of the free" you pay taxes yearly and they just keep going up and somehow we still seem to be an butt load in debt

This is very true but your off on the hourly rate as far a Florida goes . In my POS company I am the supervisor for 15+ years and the illegal's or subs is what we call them down here make 5 bucks more an hour than my legal tax paying guys . Why , because we don't have to pay workman's comp on them . Very sad

I can remember as a kid in Iowa you could make some extra cash in the summer de-tassling or bean walking. Jose wasn't around back then and the schools only taught ENGLISH. Oh how times have changed. Just in court today and Jose was stopped for not having a drivers lic. The fine for you and me is $550 plus loss of lic. Jose no lic or ins $65.50 because he never had one to begin with and got to drive away in his new SUV. I'm taking Spanish now as I learned today that the interpter gets $60 per person at an average of 8 a day. Seems like a good move

....just a thought here, if you've never applied for foodstamps, you do have to have documented income.

Any college student can get foodstamps if they work over 20 hours a week but make under 1400 a month...

Yeh it may be ruff on the hands ( old JT racing gloves helped) and growing up in Ft Dodge in the 70's and 80's you did what you had to. You live in Iowa and you know what a dump FD is.Farms were getting foreclosed on back then if your young ask your parents. I shake my head everytime I'm out there. There wern't any Jose's out there when I was a kid, never saw one except on Chico and the Man.
