probably be alot easier just to buy a 350x, the engine is tall enough you will probably have to do major frame hacking, then you will have fuel tank issues if the stock under the seat wont work, which i doubt it will and a 350 isn't that easy on gas

torker I think your main hurdle will be the height of the carb/intake on the 350x motor vs the Tri-Z. The Tri-Z frame and engine area is big, but the 350x motor is pretty long (from front to back) and that might cause a trouble too. I don't see it happening without significant frame cutting and welding.

What? This is a joke right? 350x motor instead of the 250cc 2stroke that already in the frame...?
1. You either hate 2stroke power
2. You want to add weight with 20yr old style 4stroke

May I suggest bang for buck....thanks. Checkout Derrick's 426-Zframe convert. The 01-02' motors are affordable after you part out the rest of the bike you might end up even $. The newer 4strokes rule...some might say get a new 08-09' too pricey. The 426 motors are strong preformers and right now the machine in dirtbike yrs may be 10...but put that motor on a Z and it's almost like new era. Sure the chassy is original...but thats a whole nuder ball of wax.
After my bigbore thats the last Z I'll build...already have the 01'426 and have been riding it since new. When I'm ready to get a new bike I'll hack the 426.

If you read the first post I wrote ( http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=105148 (http://http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=105148) ) you'll understand why I've chosen that engine. I know it's 35 pounds heavier, but its simplicity and affordability it's something I cant pass up, afordability more than anything. It actually makes decent power and it's absolutely, dead on reliable. This is for a TRAIL BIKE, not a racer. I already have 3 250 R's, a blaster and had the Z, so a 2 stroke hater I am not. I actually have been riding them since 1985. Just to throw that out.
What I'm looking for is a bit of help here. Please, don't turn this into a "This is a better engine tread". I've already decided on the ATC350X engine, I just need to find out if it's possible to fit it in the Z frame (beeing the biggest sport 3 wheeler frame). I really apreciate all of your opinions. But let's keep the eye on the ball.

Thanks guys,
TORKER.

It looks like the engine deal has fallen thru. Have not heard from the man in while, so I'll be parting this bike out.
If you need anything for your Z, PM me. I'll be listing on the classifieds here and on E-BAY.
