The Fix There recently was an article in St. Petersburg Fl. Times. The Business Section asked readers for ideas on "How Would You Fix the Economy?"I think this guy nailed it!
Dear Mr. President,Please find below my suggestion for fixing America 's economy. Instead of giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the "Patriotic Retirement Plan":There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:1) They MUST retire. Forty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.2) They MUST buy a new American CAR.. Forty million cars ordered – Auto Industry fixed.3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage – Housing Crisis fixed.It can't get any easier than that!!P.S. If more money is needed, have all members in Congress pay their taxes...Mr. President, while you're at it, make Congress retire on Social Security and Medicare. I'll bet both programs would be fixed pronto! If you think this would work, please forward to everyone you know. If not, please disregard.

Listen if each person who holds title to a home in America were to recieve just 100,000 per household/owner(no multipal properties). To collect the 100k you must show prior taxes, all accounts, and outstanding debts. To a GOVERMENT Data-entry person with limited computer skills. A program with an account is set-up with Mortage, Credit, Hospital/Medical taking priorty in that order.
If you have limited debt and a small mtg you can keep the extra $....Otherwise you become debt free...or out of the hole if your in too deep. To bail out GM and Banks was WRONG....you can't run on profit...you need to FAIL. Since when has the small employer been looked at by Goverment as anything but a $Cash Cow that TAXES, SS,WORKMANS COMP,PRIVITE INSURANCE,STATE,LOCAL bleed constantly...GM lets give em a break...THE UNIONS and CEO's brought this on themselves.
Now it's HealthCare....? WOW the bill just keeps getting BIGGER!
Here's a kicker....Unemployment benifets have been extended in these unfortunte times of need. This is both good and bad
Good for those who can't find work-lack of jobs
Bad for us who pay for the ones not really looking for work. Old way 1yr period at 60%...Now it's a full 2yr deal at 80% pay (no job book to check on aplications filled out)....thats sounds like vacation to a lot of people.

i have heard the goverment has enough money to give everyone $69,000. if they fork up that money and gave it to us the ecomony would sky rocket up....just have to have a rule only to buy stuff made in the USA

You can't pump money into the system, it is a bad Idea either way. You make inflation skyrocket and the money you have now, declines in value in ... 2-3 months and gas is up to $10.00 a gallon

I thought it was $275 and a $25 stimulus so the max is $300?

it is different from state to state im laid off and i get 288 a week but my grandfather gets 380 per week it all depends on how much you have paid in and how long you have been employment
