Great effects and all that; saw it in 3-D too!

My problem was; soldier goes to strange new land and meets the natives. He learns their ways and the tribe accepts him. Realizes his people are going to rape the land and kill off the natives. He's faced with choosing between his duty as a soldier or saving the tribe he is now a part of. It was like watching "Dances with Wolves" again!

Both are good movies though...

exactly what I was thinking when I watched it.
The whole movie was great but it was kind of a joke with the creativity of the plot.

We went and saw it the other night. It was OK, not one of my top films though.

Just saw Avatar last night in 3D, its absolutely mind blowing, if you haven't seen it yet you should - visually and technically you won't have seen anything even remotely like it before

Its a visual feast... or a Cranium Buffet!

Saw it again with my sister the other night. JUST as good, and I picked up on a few more things than the first go.

Seen it Sunday with the hooker. Definitely an awesome movie. Didn't get to see it in 3D tho, they were sold out for the next 2 showings. I recommend it to anyone.

Now there saying that it's making people depressed as that "future" city/environment has people depressed.

I hear it's a great film with some awesome visual affects!!

I seen it Saturday with the queen. I recommend it also, the visual effects are incredible, and the native animals, or beasts are awesome. But like other people have mentioned, the plot was pretty predictable

Saw it awhile back. The main draw is the graphics and animation. Take away that and you have a very dry juvenile plot that has been used many times. Almost identical to dances with wolfes, ferngully, and pocahontas. The storyline was way predictable. Once was enough for me. Hollywood needs to get more creative with movie storylines.
