I have been working on my 79 CJ7 I got almost a year ago.
304 v8 t18 trans 90k original miles

I got it free from the original owner but he left wood in the back and rusted out the tub. I Replaced it with a YJ tub.
4.5" suspension lift
2" body lift..
yj brake booster and master cylinder
fender well headers.

Still only half way done just because I don't have the funds to finish it. All I really need to do is wire it up and find a cheap set of 33 or 35inch tires for it.

Does anyone else have some jeeps in here?
I will try and get pics of mine so far, but its hard to tell how it sits since its on jack stands.

I miss my 98 cherokee.. HAd a 6" lift and 33's.. It was great on and off road .

I have a set of 3/4" front coil spring spacers if you need them you can have them for the price of shipping. They are new and just have been sitting in my VW for the past year

This is my 88 Wrangler I built last winter. It only has 78k on it but it had a bad frame. I found another frame near me on Ebay for $5 and started from there. It has 4" suspension, 1" polyurethane body lift, 4:56 gears, Detroit locker in the back and 33" tires. Enjoy the pictures! I didn't take too many during the build since I have built so many Jeeps and trucks the novelty is starting to wear off.

I miss my 98 cherokee.

I miss mine too. I had an '87 Cherokee Wagoneer that was fully loaded including a sunroof, power everything and leather. That was a cushy ride for it's day. I didn't get to the point of getting a lift in it before it was totalled but being stock, it was pretty capable in the snow and light mud with some BFG A/Ts on it.

This (http://upjeeping.informe.com/forum/build-threads-f11/wheel-base-extension-and-d44-9-install-in-tj-t653.html) is a friend of mine's brother's TJ project. It's fairly long but if you go into it knowing the guy that is building it couldn't even change a serpentine belt before he started, you'll be pretty amazed at the end.

Here is the '43 GPW and '53 M38A1 I am restoring with another colleague for work, The GPW had the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro end blown off with a rocket launcher in '45 and that tub is 3 GPW tubs. We are waiting on a floor and did a little bondo. Hopefully, we can prime this week. That has another cowl on another tub and the shovel/axe mount from another, It had a Ford Falcon 170 six, and was ditched. It still has a T-90 in it with a Spicer 18 twin stick case with a front end locker. The M38A1 was from either the Phillippines or USMC by the #s. That had the rear panel taken off, straightened, and all accesories in the correct place. It was mounted CJ-5 style and had CJ crap bolted on it, now its proper. More has to be done but I love it. My co worker is really cool and also my friend. He can build a jeep from scratch. we need to ditch the M38 headlights on the GPW, the proper ones are inset in the grille.
For your viewing pleasure: GPW top and M38A1 bottom

I also maintain my sisters CJ-5..(Black in 1st pic)..And since my dad had a stroke I use/maintain his TJ and I need to go through the chev small block in his 51 M38.... We also have an M38A1 that needs a new frame but is in otherwise decent condition.

I just picked this up yesterday. It's a 46 CJ-2A with a 327, Muncie 4 speed, tilt column, saginaw steering conversion, shackle reversal and Wrangler front springs. Just needs for me to finish the previous owners body work and install the brand new custom aluminum radiator he had made for it. The only part that is missing is the drivers seat.

Quadratrak refers to a full time 4x4 system which is basically the transfer case itself, other than it not having manual hubs and was only used with automatic transmissions. This was not available in CJ models until the CJ-7 later in the 70's. Quadratrak was only in the bigger jeep vehicles in the early 70s, most being vacummn operated. If it is in your 73 CJ-5, someone has put it in there and you would have an automatic tranny. You should have a Model 20 in the rear and if you are lucky, a Dana 44 up front.

You are correct on the quadratrac info but not so correct on what is factory equipment for a 73 CJ-5... The rear end will be a centered Dana 44 with flanged axles. The T-case will be a Dana/Spicer 20.. The trans a T-14 most likely or possibly a T-15, and the front end will be a drum brake Dana 30. The only thing that varied drivetrain wise in the 72-75 model was the engine and trans. My guess is he's talking about something like a powerlok in the differentials when he says Quadratrac in this particular instance.
