Georgian Luger Flies Off Track, Into Steel Pole and Dies Before Olympics Start

An Olympic luger crashed and died just hours before the opening ceremonies for the Winter Olympics today after the sled he was riding flew off the track at nearly 90 mph and flung the athlete into a steel pole.

Wow, thats terrible...... I feel for his family. My GOD, did you hear him hit that I beam??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A local resident (who was sittin pretty in life) was killed on a snowmobile last Friday......

All those years and just like that it's over. I'm surprised ABC showed the video considering it was a fatality. His poor family.
