my girlfriends clutchs are burnt up and slipping. not bad, but i was wondering what kind of additives you recomend putting in? we changed the filter and fluid w/ qt of lucas but that aint helping.

never buy a automatic toyota rav4 01-04, the ecm is junk and burns up the trannys.

Teach her to drive a 5 speed and swap it out.

anything you do will be a bandaid, Replace the transmission.

Lucas or other additives like that will not help in this situation if you have burnt up disks.

If your just wanting a bandaid to get it traded off maybe run some 10w hydrualic oil in it and go straight to a dealer. I might even trailer it a couple blocks from the dealer, then drive it in.

thanks for the replys, i'm not wanting to bandaid it for good just till we got the cash for it. i'm looking for a totaled out one with the 5speed so i got everything for the swap plus extra glass and parts. i found a few web sites today hope can get it for under 1,000, thinking we are going to be better off that route the auto tranny alone is over 1500 used, 1800 rebuilt,3000+ new.

she went from a grand prix gt to the rav4 and hates how slow the 4cyl is so the stick might help with that too.
