Hello,

I purchased a Honda ATC 110 today for $35. (It won't stay running, easy fix) Any idea what year this ATC is?

And yes, I made it all the way home, although the bike was a little difficult to steer. (The ATC was tied down) I took all dirt roads home with some connecting pavement. :naughty: shens

Thanks! I was stoked that it worked. The bike is all I have, so I have to make it work. I custom welded an ultra heavy duty rack on the back of it (It is a 2002 V Star 1100) with a 3/4" piece of plywood on it. The engine on the 110 looks brand new. It's amazing to me what condition it is in. I am going to take the carb off and clean it out. The tank has a LOT of rust in it. I am thinking nuts and bolts and a lot of shaking.

I have a buddy that made a trailer out of old bed frame so he could tow his klt160 to the woods. It looked good behind his harley and like you it was his only mode of trans

You know what the problem was? The needle valve was installed upside-down. Yes, upside-down. Not only that, but the rubber portion was chewed up. So, the spring loaded portion was shoving the valve shut at all times. The guy needed gas money-what can I say? How do I tell what year it is? Here are some more pics:

So I got it running with a needle valve from a Trail 110. Wow, what a vehicle. I went all over the mountains. I also am having to learn how to steer, i ended up rolling it down a 10' cliff. I tried to climb a steep hill with it and ended up having it fall on top of me. It's practically unstoppable though, and so much fun.

Needle valve was installed upsidown? That's a first for me..

It should say what year it is somewhere on the chassis, unless the sticker was removed..??

I did a vin decode and it is indeed an 82. The engine RPM seems to want to mysteriously creep up if I ever so lightly move the throttle cable, rev up gradually very high. What is causing this? I lubed the cable and also lubed the thumb throttle.

Probably running a bit lean..

It's running rich though, black smoke in the exhaust when I rev it, and the needle valve works, but not all the way, so I get drippage from the overflow line, so it is definitely running rich (High fuel level)

^Oh, that, yeah :) I'd play with the high and low end adjustments.
