I love recons but those mods made that thing useless. Might as well have the 250ex

Im with Yater. With the 250EX being virtually the same machine in a sport version, with no racks, aluminum wheels, and disk brakes, I dont get the point.

The EX has dumb drum on the rear...If I remember correctly
It beats the all around drums on the Recon though. Honda is Dead last when it comes to utility brakes...and they cant seem to get that through their thick heads. :x

Honda needs to get it together and take chances like Yamaha, thats why my next quad is gonna be a Yamaha.

Honda is taking chances...TRX450R!
Honda is "THE" most advanced company in my book...they have the belt-less Hydromechanical automatic transmission, GPS Rancher, and remember the legends...TRX and ATC250R's

I actually like the drum brakes on utility type quads, I haven't had a problem yet with our rancher's. Even our 85 250sx's drums still work great after a ton of abuse. My 200x's disk just don't want to work, hydraulic brakes can be a pain sometimes.
I'm pro drum (on the right machine).

My SX's brakes worked like a dream.
My Foreman's Front brakes work OK...but you have to adjust them after every ride :x
The rears just plain F****N dont like to work. High Lifter's rear disk brake kit will be going on there when its released.

That recon is just another version of a 250EX. I can understand someone doing that if they want something custom, but, really, its retarted.
