Which Would you Guys DO

Now im wondering what should I do for a winter project sence the local junk yard has got 2 82 250r's. I was going to build a 500x but i dont know about a motor. And i havent had a 2 stroke sence the 80's and it would be nice and i can get these pretty cheap too. And for the 500x I would have to get another rear end and build a frame the frame wouldnt be hard for me but I just dont know. It would be nice to have the 250r and woop trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro at the local state park at the moto cross track. But i dont know what do you guys think.

The '82 R's wont "whoop ass" like the 85-86. I would go with the 500X because I like 4 strokes and I'm not too crazy over the air cooled R's....but whatever ya want ;)

even if you go with the 500x snag those r's you mingt offset cost on the 500 if you part them out or keep them for future projects.
think about it you guy's that don't like the air cooled r's
the 81 r's was the first year they were produced and the 82 was almost identical Why not own the machine that started it all!!!
don't get me wrong i like the whole liquid cooled thing but
the 81-82 250r's will be just as much fun,
i own one now (needs rings winter project)
when i had it running last year(ALL ORIGINAL!!!20 YEAR OLD PISTON AND RINGS) i loved it!i'm sure when i rebuild it this winter(slight bore, piston rings,clutch,reeds,tire,rims,seat,plastics)i'm sure i will like it even more!!!

See thats what i was think i would total rebuild the motor last time I was up there one motor turned over and ther other one was locked up so theres a part motor. I think it would be cool to have a old R cause how many are out there right now. Not as many as the 83-86 R's are there. I like this one really well whos is it. If i can post this pic.

i have invested around 800 in my 250r and it doesn't look half that good!!!
what do they want for em?

I dont know. I went up there and was looking for some big red front ends parts and found them i didnt even ask the guy about them. ONe is almost complete ans the other one needs tank fenders and some other stuff so i might offer him 350 to 400 is what im thinking
