This works like a champ! I had a 200x tank that was very rusted inside. I used distilled white vinigar (walmart) $2.83 a gal used 2 1/2 gal to fill tank & a 2 oz cup of rock salt. I would shake every hour or so whille drinkin beers and it sat for 12 hours total. Opened tank & it looked rusty to me. Took the hose and sprayed it out. It was nearly perfect. Sprayed the inside down with WD40 until i am ready to use.

I attached pic's of my 2 projects. 84 200x & 85 200x. Not sure if you will be able to see them, but they are totally stock and they have never been apart. I am the first from the day they were made.

Never heard of this method. I may give it a try though i just got a bunch of free acetone from work i plan to use in the 350x tank.

Here is a link for anyone interested in several ways to remove rust in a tank.

I've done the same thing except using vinegar and bb's instead of salt. I've used vinegar for years prepping metal for paint but haven't ever even heard of using salt before. Best way to keep rust out of your tank... keep it full of gas lol.
