The rear sprocket is worth more than the 200x:shiftyeyes::banned: some one should ask how much he'd want with out the rear sprocket.:D.

I may be wrong but I think if he was racing back then he would be using duro tires or H-tracs not itp holeshots or maxxis razors whatever they are. And That axle looks brand new. Does not look like 26 years worth of age on it.

The machine supposedly only has 12 hours on it.

It looks like a nice machine. I think if he took the time to remove all the stickers, he might get a good price.

I emailed him about the sprocket and he says he paid that much for it because he wanted Stainless. I still dont know how somebody could pay that much for a sprocket, that price has got to be right around the price of the 200x off the showroom floor!

no way anyone would pay 2000 for a sprocket, the decals are correct for the age but ITP XCRs were not around back when you could race a 200x, PRm did not make skid plates back then either as far as I can remember, and if you run an exteded Durablue with spacer, #1 you are gonna bend it, and # 2 it will be to wide for compition, because it should be wider then 51". Its nice but Honda would not want it either. Good luck with the auction.

Glad you caught this too.....holeshots were not around until about 87 or 88. PRM I"m not sure about....

Thats a cool bike and it has some nice aftermarket stuff on it (that rear caliper/disc plastic guard from Maier is kinda rare) but not sure if its museum quality...

Looks like the gas tank still has 1984 gas in it and there are what appear to be rust spots inside the tank. 19 hours to machine the rear sprocket, what a laugh!

Hahahahahahaha. That is some funny reading. I read through the whole ad and then looked at the pics expecting to "see" something really cool. WOW..........was I dissapointed. I could turn out something like that in a few days. And what's the deal with the "stainless" sprocket? I don't recall any writings about a stainless sprocket that the racers used. I do have a solid aluminum one that was used but I believe they wore out quickly and were surpassed by regular carbon steel. (I may be wrong on this) Damn, If I ever sell the RacerX, and based on this ad, I could get $10,000 for it. That is if I don't ship it to the museum in Japan. HA!

There is no way that sprocket cost that much iv been running a wire edm for years and iv made them in like 2 hours and at todays prices it would cost around 250.00 if you were charged full price and if i would have made it i would have used a cnc mill but for 2000.00 i well make them all day.
