I was going down the side of the road, and I wanted to slide the back end around. The shoulder of the road is pretty wide so I didnt think anything of it. When I slammed on the back brakes, it kicked sideways and I thought "O sh!t!" cause the front tires went onto the road, and then the whole quad slid into the road and WHAM! It rolled sideways, I fell off, smacking my head on the pavement, and then the quad rolled over me, and rolled 2 more times after it went over me. It took me a minute to get back up, and mike(owns the quad) and jim(friend) were down there in about 2 sec. I really mared the end of my left elbow, left side of me face got a little road rash, and my hands and above both knees. I'm gonna be feelin this in the morning.

What kind of quad was it out of curiosity? What happened to it after the wreck? o

Yeah i am pretty damn lucky, and i wasent wearing a helmet(im a dumbasss, i admit). QUADS SUCK! It was a '99 Bayou 220. It bent the handle bars, and the front brake lever was bent right in so thet dont work now, and the handlebars are not alighened anymore, the are cocked the the left when you go straight! It poped the fenders out some, not bad tho. We have put that quad through hell and back and it wont die! Surpised me that the accident didnt do more to me or the quad!

You are lucky, last time i had a spill like that..(and it was on a quad, not my bike or a trike!!) The helmet saved my jaw from probably being broke off. Flipped a warrior end over end, but i hit the ground first, face first, and then came the stupid quad..lol, that was at st. joe park. Screwed the quad up and had to go home. oh, good times

Lets see here.....

The only time I wrecked a quad....I ended up having a cracked skull, 100+ stitches, sprained ankle (I still cant move it right), and a scar that will be seen by everyone for the rest of my life. The helmet I was wearing didn't save my face, but it did save the rest of my head (I recently found out that there is a huge gash on the side of the helmet).

Helmets save lives....always wear them...no matter how short the trip!!

Glad you okay, but what the heck you were you tinking trying to do a power slide on a bayou??? You said the steering is crooked, well check the tie rods, the warrior I bought had apparently been flipped end over end, had to steer right to go straigt, just check & adjust the tie rods or you bent the steering shaft. I ordered some moose handle bars from dennis kirk ($17) hope they are okay, cause the answer ones on the warrior are terrible.

The handle bars and brake lever can be bent back, but like you send the tie rods must be bent. But what surprises me is that that bayou does pretty good power slides in the feild tho.
