Exactly my first thought when I saw the vid, can think of a bunch of ding-dongs that need to be tossed into it.

Those are aluminum BMW blocks. Show me a machine that can shred cast iron blocks!

I think they are aluminum, but it is still cool, I would think that although AL is softer, cast would be more brittle, so either way it is one bad@$$ machine.

id love to see what drives them there shredders got to be some serious high voltage electric motors with that kind of torque. wonder if they do that for shipping purposes?? It all gets melted anyway, but i bet you can fit allot more crushed, than whole on a semi, barge, or rail car!

Thats pretty cool, but It needs more Power. They keep backing It up because when It gets a BIG bite the hydrolics that turn It stalls LOL. I guess If they turned the pressure up It would break the machine. Looks like aluminum to me!

Place I used to haul junk cars to in Pontiac,MI. called Fragments. Giant crane picked up the entire vehicle...less gas tank and battery...and dropped it into a giant hopper 100 ft in the air. Out of the conveyor belt located about 25 yards away came just that...fragments. No biger than a connecting rod. Whole car...blocks,transmissions,rear ends and frames....fragments.
