Looks like black duct tape to me not paint because it's a solid color it doesn't have the little spatter look like painted tape, but I could be wrong not mine so can't say for sure.

Honestly,if that thing has been sitting for years, did it have oil in it? was it turned over? the rings have probably seated on the inside walls somewhere from sitting all the years and not being turned over- which is no good as we all know, the seals cannot be good in theory-the water pump seal in particular, those crank bearings might have pitting on them from condensation build-up from years, I for 1 think that is a BS listing.I just rebuilt 2 motors soups to nuts complete documentation as well,do they classify as NOS OEM ?, I can spray them black and shine up the bolt heads too-man this drives me nuts 2500?? 2500?? I do not in any stretch think mine came near that, and I purchased everything OEM that I could-including crank kits-wtf? they made how many 250r's and his guy has the only motor left, oh please!!!!! The new owner must contact me as I have PRIME swampland in FL I might list as OEM or NOS for sale, good price, it is the only PRIME land left!!!!!
