This is me riding my newly acquired 2002 Honda 400EX. I went up after work and went for a ride by myself which I never do but it was fun. This was at Upper Oso Trail in the Los Padres National Forrest here in Santa Barbara. I found a big rattlesnake on the way back to my truck and you can see it towards the end of the video cause I stop to take a picture of it haha.

That looks like a sweet spot to ride. Any open riding there or is it designated trails only?

Designated trails only, I may be selling the 400EX and my 350x to get a KFX450R.....

I have owned many trikes over the years and kick myslef for selling them. The 350x is a classic, IMO i'd sell the 400ex and buy a 250r gen3, A well tuned 250 is a good match for most of the 450's. With a few little mods they hold there own no problem. Besides the 450's rev so high they need to be rebuilt as much as the old 2 strokes(and it's alot cheaper to maintain and rebuild a 2 stroke). But just my 2 cents.

The maintenance schedule on the KFX450R is actually really easy, I don't want a 250R either. I like trikes just as much as you guys but I wanna race and can't race a trike here I have to have a quad.

I don't want to sell the 350X but at the same time having something new would be really nice especially because I can ride it anywhere. I am always getting turned down on places to ride/race because it isn't a quad. I just don't know if the 400EX is competitive enough to race.

Those trails look sick and keep your 350x and buy a 89 trx 250r for racing u can find nice ones for around 2500 bucks u should be able too get that for your 400ex maybe more it looks pretty nice the 250 will walk all over the new 450s if set up right.

Well I passed on the KFX450R, they wouldn't take less then $6,200 which was wayyyyyyyy too much. I think I'm gonna keep my 350X and my 400EX and just do pipe, airbox lid removal, jetting and 450R shocks. I just got a CNC steering stabilizer for it so that should be pretty sweet and I just put my ITP holeshots off my 350x on it so it should be fun! Maybe a new video tomorrow!
