2003 Honda recon 250es

Does anyone have any info/opinions on this model quad? Im looking at one tomorrow for my wife. The price is right and it looks to be in great condition.
Is there anything to look for that could be a problem?
Any info would be great.

they are your classic Honda quad. reliable, bullet proof and slow. lol they are the only honda ATV i know of that use push rods rather than a over head cam. i actually have one in my barn all torn apart right now.
they are a perfect wife, daughter, younger kid, novice rider, mess around quad.
if its in good shape you wont be disappointed.

I concur with the above. I rebuilt one (motor) for my father-in-law this summer and it is really a well put together auto clutch quad. Watch the rear brake pedal for seizure and adjustment. This is actually the exact same quad as the 250ES sport 250, just different plastics and with racks.

Im still looking for one. The one I went and looked at last night was beat up. It didnt look like the one in the pics he sent. The fenders had been painted black then someone tried to get the paint off. Tires were shot, no rear light/trunk lid. Front brakes were gone, back were barely able to stop you. Guy didnt know trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro about the mechanics of it, yet he owned a auto garage. Not at all worth what he wanted.

I had one brand new in 98. Great little machine....ran circles around the timberwolfs!

Well I found my quad. Just bought a 07 Recon es. Wife loves it. Got it for a great price imo. Thanks for the info.
