The bought ones are nice but for the same money you could beef it up allot and build to suit, if you have the skill. I'm not much for woodwork, most of my stuff comes out ugly, lol. If you plan on much welding a steel table top is nice. Here's a work bench I made when I started on the 200x, it's now got a 4 inch vise mounted to it. It seemed like I was always moving that engine stand out of my way, Now it's always being used. The best part was everything was laying around, I didn't even have to use a saw. Just welded it together.

I used the lower cupboards out of my parent's kitchen after they remodeled. Painted them black, put a piece of plywood on top, and screwed them to the wall. Lots of storage and at the right height for working on things. You could probably find used cupboards on CraigsList for cheap.

Here is the only pic I have of it hosted right now

Depends what you do on them.... I use 1/4" thick steel tops mounted to 3/4" plywood and 2x8 legs. It's got a good size vice on it.....

I knew about the sizes I wanted, THEN went to the steel shop. Most charge per cut but have a scrap pile. So mine may only be 69.5"s x 21"s instead of 2'x7' it was much cheaper that way, then I built the frame t suit it, chopped in my own drawers in a 2x10" front and viola, bench and storage done with a 33 gallon horizontal compressor under it :D

I bought one, and by the time I was done cutting it up and making it the way I wanted, I could have started from scratch....
