not sure what year it is as its my buddies. He just bought it and neither of us know the problem. I know the kid he bought it off of and the kid had the motor rebuilt before he sold. Anyways the problem he's having is it seems like the throttle is sticking. Sometimes it starts racing really really high rpms like he is holding the throttle wide open. and if he pushes the cable in it will idle back down. But its scary because of how fast its racing. It happens at random times so he could be crusing along and go to shift and it will start revving really high. i know its not the carb because we've had it apart and the kid who sold it to him took it apart too. So could it be a bad cable or sumthing?:wondering

Yes get a new throttle cable. New ones on ebay are like $15. Sticking throttle cables are dangerous so just replace it it will be worth it especially if you crash cause of it.

Get rid of that stupid tors system on,top of the car and get a new cable and cap from vitos and it also sounds like a air, leak make sure the reeds and intake are tight and have no cracks also if you run prefix and didnt plug the hole on the car. It will sometimes do that

My ktm250sx started to do that a while back turns out i had the throttle cable run to the carb wrong so that at certain times it would get pinched under the tank or something. when you put the new one on make sure it is not being pinched or anthing. you can find a new throttle cable here for 17.99
