I have NOT gotten to fish saltwater at all this year, and man I miss it.

Freshwater trips have been few and far between, used to be a daily ritual.
So I am trying to get back into it for some good fall fishing.

I know I will be GREATLY outdone by anyone in or around Florida as EVERYTHING down there is at least 5lbs.....but here is what I'd say are good for my area.

Early May, myself then my little cousin (my sidekick) with my bass:

The next day, he lost my pickerel which was noticeably bigger than that bass while lifting into the boat.....it was BIG!

Then this guy fell down a man-made waterfall while fishing for small catfish (for a pond we made)
Got another the next day in the road. Both released...well one escaped the other released.

Last Sunday, my little cousin caught this bass while I got nothing!!

But to get even, I got this one tonight:

Wish I had more, but I'm looking forward to seeing your fish pics from this year. Can't wait for muskey/pike while ice fishing with my trikes.

I cant wait till winter for ice fishing season, work is slow in winter so im usually out on the ice everyday that I can.

The canal is tough, gotta get the tide just right or your stuff just travels downstream........

Don't fish the canal, have heard too many horror stories of tides taking lures, and boats cutting lines.

I live on a bay from which I catch eels/crabs/clams/anything else. Walk up 1/4 mile to the beach, and fish there. Caught a lobster on my line last summer. 10 minutes later, he was boiling in my kitchen. Yum.

And that crappie = OMG! I've seen a few near 11", but never nearly as overall large as that!!!

I'm waiting for the salmon to start running. Fall fishing is my favorite. Best time of the year in my opinion.

I try to get out as much as I can. I absolutely LOVE bass fishing, and have been trying to break the state record (about 9 lbs) for many years, or catch a lunker wall mounter 7+, or smallie 5+. I know I had 2 that had to come close, one a few years ago, and one a few months ago that acually broke my rod, and pulled down into the thikest weeds, and got off! Heres a pic of a good fightin' 4 1/2 lber.

^ Holy smokes, thats a monster drum! Never caught one nearly that big, but I've heard they can get close to 50. Here in Minnesota, we call them Sheep-head, and I have heard the smaller ones are really good to eat, but never tried it. Nice catch!

My 12 year old boy and I have been doing a bunch of fishing this summer. We have a pond behind our house about 7 acres, it got drained and rebuilt 3 years ago. It was just stocked 2 years ago now. They stocked it with a tons of minnows at first then started stocking it with some 8" bass and channel cat and some kind of hybrid bluegill.

We have caught tons of 15-17 inch bass guessing 100 or more. What is unreal is we have probably caught that many channel cat but bigger on lures, I had never caught a cat on a lure until this pond. The channel cat are all fat so I know there not hungry, does anyone else catch cats on lures like this.

All my pictures on my phone I'll try and get some loaded up this weekend.

I've been out a few times this summer, now that i've got my own boat I can fish a lot more than I used to. We usually catfish, but like to bass some too. I also enjoy fly fishing. I hope to plan a few trips this fall now that it's not so unbearably hot.

The only pic i could find right now, me and a blue cat.

Been doing salmon fishing lately. Caught a few 15lbs and one monster 22lb that gave me a good 50min fight until I got him in!

Mostly I do freshwater fishing in the lakes and rivers here. Steelhead and Salmon occupy fall and winter and then in summer Im hittin bass and trout.

^ Yes

Thanks - good to know I'm not the only one!!! Every other perch's head goes down about 45* to the mouth (or 135* depending on which way you look at it).

That fish did not. No where close. And I've never seen such a large bass-style mouth on a perch.
