i have wondered if someone could get the history channel to do a show or documentary about 3 wheelers and their history on the histiry channel.
what i think the possible bads would be is what they say like they say their dangerouse death traps like the cpsc said.
or people would see it and start buying trikes then they would be harder to find.
goods.
get the word out.
make them more reconizeable.
get the long and lost team riders on tv or heard from.

ehh thats a tough one. having been born after production of 3 wheelers have stopped i know that the only way to get into the sport is by knowing someone older to show you the ropes. teach you to respect the bike and the bike will respect you. id hate for some rick 17 year old jerk off to see a tv show, think 3 wheeler are tits and kill himself on one. it would be a neat documentary though haha

It could go either way.
Might reactivate some retired lawyer that wants some publicity.
There was a rumor that Oregon would stop allowing trikes on public lands
and perhaps even restrict private sales.
Most trike owners have the ultimate respect for their machines esp after spending
huge amounts of time building them from the ground up, so irresponsible operation
is rare.
Incident stats are waaay higher for new riders on new quads thinking they can do whatever they want because they have credit cards and a helmet.

I like the fact that three wheelers aren't always recognized and people ask what it is. I like how some people think I'm a nut for driving such a "dangerous" machine. Keeping 3 wheelers on the down low will leave more parts for the people who respect trikes rather then someone who buys it for 50 bucks then drives it for what it is and leaves it dead in a mud whole.
it really all depends on how the documentary is written and from whos point of view it comes from.
for me its a bad idea.

I voted not sure because its hard to say in what light they would be cast in. I like the big H alot, but you almost have to assume that alot of their research would center around whats been documented. And we all know that MOST of whats been documented is dominated by ill advised, inexperienced theory and demonization conjured up by ambulance chasing lawyers, ignorant pencil pushing bureaucrats and crusading news reporters. And i say let that monster sleep....However, if they went out and did some investigating in the real world and looked up some real world accident/fatality stats and the truth was put out there, that wouldnt be a bad thing. Its all in how deep they would be willing to dig....

i say go for it. just seeing them on TV would be great. even if they bashed them most people would have no differant opinion than they do now. the thing is that they would have to at least acknowledge the fact that 4 wheelers evolved from 3 wheelers. for them to do one i think they would have to point out that there has ben no injuries in the OTC series for all the years it has ben going. (at least i think there has ben no bad injuries)

Keep them off TV. We all know what happened last time. This time they would try and ban all used sales.

the guys in the STAFF shirts are from the history channel. they were doing a documentary on the evolution of motorcycles at my first freestyle show. they asked "can the 4 wheeler guy stay out of the show" Travis told them that i would be in the show no matter what that said. i ask if they would ever do one on 4 wheelers (they would have to start with 3 wheelers to do it right) they said they had no interest in doing one. maybe someone else will have better luck.

Bad idea, I think that they would only sensationalize them for ratings.. (anyone remember 60 minutes)...

Maybe an History show like they did for the Modified Dirt Trackers in Kansas. They did a 5 part series of 5 guys racing Mod's . They showed everyhting about the car from how it's built, tested, raced, safety and what it took to get there. Just normal guys showing what it takes to keep a sport alive. That might work but a total history of show would be a hatchet job. Old footage from the 80's and 20/20 reports....... NOOOOOO WAAAAYYY !!!!!! Some lawyer would see it and get an idea

make a movie and keep it underground, not main stream. everyone on here is only a small percentage of the entire offroad group as a whole, stay outta the media. media is bad for this sport called off road. i can see how it would go...starting out with some guy and girl pulling a atc90 outta the back of a big stationwagon riding in the dunes wearing nothing but a tshirt, sneekers, pair of tight wranglers and no helmet......yeah thats just was the media needs to see right now.....
