A customer came in the shop today and asked if i wanted a four wheeler. Said on the 4th of july someone had pushed it in his machine shed, said the cops came and checked the vin and it wasnt stolen so when i asked him how much he wanted he said how can i sell it it isnt mine just come and get it outa here. Sounds a lil fishy except the guy is 85 yrs old so i am heading out to p/u a freebie hopefully its not locked up but its free. Ill let you know the make mode tomorrow and what shape its in.:)

I had one of thoes. A red one one w/ front and rear racks. It had on demand 4x4. It was a decent old quad. Nice score!

I have a 96 trailblazer which is the same thing minus the front rack. I bought it new in early 96 and have beat on it for years. It is the most dependable atv I have ever owned. It still runs good and has good brakes after a million pad changes and 100,000 chain replacements. No complaints from mine.

I have said many times that when you hear someone ragging a Polaris, just ask them if they have owned one. They always so NO, BUT SO & SO DID. I have 4 Polaris ATVs now and everyone has been good. My brother has had 1 and my dad 3. Maintenance is the key- Polarises are covered with grease fittings.

on the 92 trail boss 250 oil tank is under the plastic in front of the headlight, you just see the cap poking through, i would assume it's the same on the 88. pretty quick machine, handles pretty good, as stated above they like maintenance but overall decent.

??? Confused looked under the seat up front no cap then i just mixed 40:1 and it runs good minus pumping the brake but what a fun little machine have to look harder??? The engine is noisy but just rattly at idle sounds good under power probably typical?

i'm looking in my general atv maint. book right now, covers up to 1987, says 250 trailboss is oil injected. not many pix though and doesn't specify where the oil tank is. methinks it's in front somwhere, under front plastics. yeah, the polaris brake system leaves a little to be desired. i need to bleed the front brakes on the wife's trailboss about twice a year.

here's a pic (if i loaded it right lol) of my wife's quad. you can see the oil cap right in front of the headlight. i know your plastics are different, but maybe this will help?

i would think so if your using quality oil. the injected motor hardly uses any oil, but when premixed you might need more. maybe call your local polaris dealer and ask them?

Well its is missing the oil injection tank and 50:1 seems like it runs good now.

just mix the gas on that bad boy and dont worry about the oil tank.
