I am thinking about building a trx 200sx and want it to be fast. any ideas would help. I also bought a 250sx trike yesterday and wanting to restore it.

how fast you want to go depends on how deep your pocket book is. it would be cheaper to put a larger motor in it than trying get alot of performance out of a 200 but you can get the 200 to perform.

just buy a blaster or 200x jeez, why would you want a trx200sx faster? Also, wrong forum.

I think the TRX200sx is the chain drive 1986-1988 model? I had three of them that I sold last winter. Unless you mean the earlier model that was shaft drive?

The 86-88 200sx engine is most similar to the 86/87 200x engines, but auto clutch, reverse, and e-start/pull start. I wanted to put a 200s engine in one of my SX frames, but it wasn't even close. They are not really a fast quad, I suppose 86/87 200X upgrades would work on the top end, such as higher compression piston, good cam. But the fear with auto-clutches is overpowering them. I'd suggest riding it as it is, maybe get a 250X or 300ex for more power and speed.

Sell the 200SX and buy her a Blaster. Whatever it takes to get that SX going faster is going to cost a lot more time and money than it would to just get something faster. There are certain machines that nobody bothers to modify, and for good reason. You can't polish a turd, or in this case you just shouldn't.

yeah point taken. I got her a polarus 90. just looking for something to do to this little sx it will outrun my stock 300 in a short run . its fun to ride to me. not going sell cause it always someone wanting to ride that don't have a wheeler.

well i used to have a an sx when i was a kid, and loved it. i wish i still had it. i always wanted to mod one up. someday i'll find another and put the ideas i have in my head to work and see what the end result is. i know its not a common wheeler to mod, and that there is few and far in between mods for them on the market, but thats where ingenuity and customization take over. i always wanted to stuff a punched and modded 200x motor in one, make myself some better front suspension, and rear suspension, cut the plastics a certian way, like i said the image inside my head looks better then what i can explain, lol. some may ask why, the answer, because i can!!! i have seen stupider stuff done.

1 - sell the quad
2 - start a savings account with the money
3 - make weekly deposits in the saving account til you have enough to buy a liquid cooled 2 stroke trike
4 - enjoy the 250SX until then
Of course I may be a little biased, I don't like quads. I guess that's why I'm here, lol

1986 trx200sx was my first quad (the 110 being my first machine) and i loved it. If you want faster then sell it for like said a blaster, 250x, 300ex ect...
but if not then just enjoy your classic atv the way it is. nothing wrong with going slow sometimes.

fastest you'll make it is seeing it in the back of the trucking going 75 down the interstate to the next owners daugher to ride on the farm.

next go buy a blaster or 250x/300ex .

thats all the 200sx wrote.
