they are very nice quads, one of the best for woods riding.to make a big
improvment over stock all you need is a K&N power kit.The biggest down fall is no reverse, but if you can ride they will spin around on a dime.
You can buy the 99 model for around $3,000 + or - a few bucks, and the newer ones are only a couple hundred more if they are stock.Good luck
I hope this helps ya.

The 400EX handles like a dream. The suspension is also one of the best.

400EX's are selling like hot cakes now because of the TRX450R's release.

400exs are one of the best trail bikes ever made, they're great for almost every type of riding, good luck.

I own a 2003 400ex and it is fun. You can ride wheelies forever on those. I just ordered a k&n kit for it I heard it helps a lot.

If it's in nice shape that's a steal! I bought a mint 99 400ex at the begining of the summer for $3200 and that's a good deal for our area.

It's the season to get a 400EX if you want one.
I've heard from allot people that the price of the 400EX is droping because of the new TRX450R that is coming out. So if you want a 400EX it's time to get one.

imagine how much they'll cost new in december just before the trx450r comes out, they will be cheap.

a dealer by me,(southern ny),was taking $950.00 off the msrp on a brand new one. you should be able to pick one up for a great price, especially with the new 450 being released.

Track and Trail in StateCollege, PA sells them for that every day. (add TTL and some fees here and there) A 2000 400EX for $2500 is a decent deal, if it is in good shape. My brother got his 2000 400EX with WB E-Series slip-on, DG nerfs, new Holeshot tires out back, Maxxis Pros up front, Dominator Bars and a few other doo dads for $3200, back in the spring of 2002. Goto www.exriders.com and take a look around. Guys selling stockers, mildy modded and complete race machines all the time. Decent prices too.
