View Full Version : TRX 250 (and SX/ES ATC's) rear end difference between 85 and later?

Anyone know a quick way to differentiate the 85 rear ends from a TRX250 quad (similar to SX/ES) from the later models?

I found an engine I may buy for my SX (Mine needs rings, gaskets, timing chain guides/maybe chain from loud noises) and the fellow has extra quad parts, he thinks he has a full rear end.

Cheapest/easiest way to get a longer swingarm for my bigger rear tires, and lower gearing.

Thanks

If I'm correct the 250es and trx250 have the same rear end,the 250sx gearbox will interchange but all other parts are differents

Rear end will inter change with all of them but some you have to switch out the inner cover, some have a bigger lip then others its no big deal to change out.

I saw Name Brand's build with the TRX swinger and want to do the same to extend my wheelbase. If it's the same as the 250ES that gives me more options, sure it's the same length? I'd also like the lower gearing or the ES/TRX

Have a rear rack for the machine, and 25" mudding tires, 350x is for speed, this will be a go-everywhere machine.
