Jet ski question

Does anyone know if Honda made a stand-up jet ski back in the mid 80's? I seem to rermember seeing it in a dirtwheels or another 3 wheeler mag back then. Im looking for a pic or 2 to win a bet I have with a buddy.

I seem to remember Honda dabbling with the market a little but I don't remember anything being officially released. I spent a little over a decade racing and riding stand up skis. A Honda made stand up doesn't come to mind.

That being said....prove me wrong and I'd love to see it. I have a real soft spot in my heart for stand up skis and the history behind the sport.

Im almost positive that I remember seeing a pis or article in a atc mag back in the day with a kawasaki 550 stand-up and a Honda stand-up. The Honda was wider than the Kawasaki. All I need is a pic or 2 and I cant find anything.

I have been around the stand-up jet ski scene for a long time. I don't remember seeing any honda stand-ups in any of the old mags, or even a short article on them. Yamaha built a stand up model called the FX1 (I believe in 1995 and 96) that was similar in size to the kawi 400/440/550. A few other manufactures built them too back in the day....PJS built there own (lazerjet) and I remember Nicholson had one also. I think it was the same Nicholson that built aftermarket ATC frames but I'm not 100% sure. I currently own a 2001 yamaha 701 Superjet and a 1987 Kawasaki 650SX stand-up. When will I give up stand-ups?----when I can no longer stand!

i also am into the stand ups and can tell you that honda never made a stand up. as xfile said, yami made the fx1 but other that that they were kawi's 300 440, 550, 650, and the 750

Honda did not amke one, they were ready to go into production, but 60 minutes aired an article showing a guy getting killed and how dangerous they are and back out until much later. I was working in a dealership when the 60minutes thing aired and remeber the rep telling us production plans were cancelled.

So blue27, Honda did have prototypes then? I remember seeing it in a mag like I said. It could have been the final prototype before production.
