question about my 185

i have a 82 185s and i know that 200x and a xr200 cam is an upgrade. my question is which is better for low end? i also know that some heads are better than other. the 185 came with two different head with different size valves, my question is what size valves is in the better head?

i have noticed the 2 different heads on the 185...glad someone else saw this too, i thought it was just me. but i wouldnt think it would matter about valve sizes, its running the same carb and has the same port sizes i believe

in theory, bigger valved head would be better... as long as you open up the intake/exhaust ports a litte(CAREFULLY AND CLEANLY) to match your intake boot and exhaust(less restriction).

with an xr200 carb/boot and a larger diameter headpipe the larger valve head would be the way to go imo.

i have no exp with the xr cam but i had an x cam in an S and from dead stop it would lift the front tire in 3rd gear with 21" rear tires and stock gearing. hope this helps.
