I got a 2000 Blaster last year - you were the only one that replied to my Blaster noise post, Thank you!! Inexpensive fun little toys aren't they. First thing I did was tear it down and grease it, I added two zerk fittings to the swing arm that has the teenie tiny bearings and bushings - such a simple no frills quad!Everyone cries about the rear brake but I cleaned mine up greased it and it seems to work great - although if I find a hyd unit I will adapt it. How does the TORS system detect a stuck throttle other versus holding it wide open for a bit?? Not that I have a problem but I'm curious as hell. What have you improved or removed on yours?? Seems real rich though... Would taking the air box lid off lean that out a bit?? Pipe and silencer must work great? I've seen them on EBAY but don't know what to buy.Just want your thoughts opinions and soforth as I know you were around with good advice back at the old board two years ago and now:)

Its nice to see someone else that likes blasters.I work on mine constantly to keep it riding like new.I didnt put grease fittings on my swingarm yet. I take it off every few months to grease and clean it.The TORS system operates by a switch in the throttle housing. You can see it if you take the throttle housing cover off. If you pull your throttle cable without moving the thumb lever it should stall out. If you play with the cable adjustment you can get it to stall out when you just touch the gas. When the throttle sticks and you let off the gas,the thumb lever comes back and hits the switch and shuts the motor down.If it happens,I dont think you can start the machine until the throttle is fixed.
I bought mine new in 2000.the first thing i did was install an oil inj blk off plate. Now I mix with Klotz super techniplate.I put in a new top end and boyesen torque reeds in June. The motor and exaust are stock.
Other mods,AC front bumper and rear swingarm bumper,DG rear grab bar,OEM aluminum skidplate, custom frame skidplate,12 tooth f sprocket, new OEM front brake lines,Moose f brake shoes, new clutch cable,400ex bend alum bars,MSR gelgrips,Ceet seat cover, new OEM plastic, new frame/swingarm paint, almost new front and rear shox, yellow wireloom.18 x 11 x 8 Holeshots on IRC alum rims, banshee front wheels/tires.The wiring harness was untaped and rewrapped with blue tape.I customized my rear brake cable and took out the parking brake. Now the rear brakes work like hydraulic. It took about 2 hrs to do the rear brakes.
I want to do alot more to it but I dont have $3000 laying around....240 kit werx suspension, steering stabilizer,
Check out www.trengaracing.com They are Blaster specialists and make alot of the stuff they sell.

What did you mean by the rear brakes work similar to a hydraulic? Does the 12 tooth front sprocket give it more low end? I feel like I'm on a 125 with steroids!!, all top end. I know what you mean about the pipe in your other post. Did you not trust that injection system? I actually got a CC syringe and checked mine as to output it was spot on but are these prone to failure or is that just hype? Mine is rich though, maybe removing the air box cover will help? Mine is a 2000 I bout it with under 20hrs. for 2K - I was happy with that. But would you believe that when I tore the rear axle out (I tear down everything I buy!) I could see signs of the inner race spinning on the axle outside diameter - even though they weren't seized!. I pressed in new ones I got at work (14$ and TCM seals for 4$) I sed cylindrical loctite on the I.D. and the O.D. TOO many housings and axle journals get cooked by spun bearings. I'd love a new water cooled Zuki or the Honda that they'll make someday or even an 89-250R(most of those are cooked) but bang for buck Blasters rock!

I eliminated my parking brake and now the rear bakes work as good as hydraulic.Right now I have a 14 t f sprocket w 18" rear tires. Its about the same as having stock gearing and stock 22" tires.I also got rid of the injection so I could mix it myself and the injection mixes it wayyy to rich.
