There is not many around, because two-stroke bikes are generally bought for mx, and as you may or may not know, there is not a 500 class anymore, which brings the popularity down I mean come on who would buy one for a woods bike, you would be in 1st gear all the time. Those things are so damn fast, that neutral is too fast for me. LOL!

Wow, I thought 2001 was the last year for the mighty 500, except for the Service Honda aluminum framed 500. Can you got to a regular Honda dealer and order a 2003 steel framed 500?? I thought the discontinued them because of 2 stroke emissions issues ? and plus they came out with the CRF450 around the same time they quit selling the CR500... I would love to ride one just to feel what its like.

read the whole thing, then the note at the bottom which says...

Note: In 2001 Honda Motor Co. dropped the production of their CR500R completely. Through a unique arrangement with Honda we (Service Honda) assemble the CR500 engines in our facility to exacting Honda standards.

I would buy one for the woods. But on a low end pipe, fly wheel weight, bark busters, skid plates, gear it differently, lights. It would be a good enduro. Imaging riding that thing legally on the street. You would be passing R6's on the high way.
