ive heard alot of different answers....but what do you guys personally prefer....im considering getting a dirtbike (brand new) and it will be my first so i want to treat it good....some say Be'nol but hardly anyone sells that around here...some say Castor927 and others say Klotz.....which do you prefer??? from reading in magazines, Castor seems to be the oil of choice...but i dunno..

I have liked the klotz 80% synthetic, 20% caster oil which ever that is. The benoil seems overpriced for my blood and doesn't seem to help my machine, but it smells awesome, all klotz oils do. I'd stick to strictly mineral oil in the cold weather, and during break in peroid. I herd to use mineral oil from dirt wheels, and the principle they told me sounded correct. I purchased some ams-oil synthetic and I don't care for it. It's nice for my boat though. The regular oil the factory recommends also works well. I stuck to yamalube crap with my blaster for 2 years and that thing ran like the day it was new, and I didn't baby it either. It easily had 200 hours on it, and only about 10 spark plugs. Also stick to that factory mix ratio if you want it to last the longest.

Blue Marble at 50:1 in every two stroke we have here. I like it even better than the MC1 at 50:1 that I ran for many many years.

I ran Yamalube for a bit. I'm getting ready to switch to Blue Marble though. All these people who like it can't be lying ;)

Motul 800 synthetic mixed with Av-Gas or VP racing fuel. And Motul Trans-Oil in the gearbox. Motul Chainlube, Motul Wash-N-Wax, Motul Silicon Clean, Motul Brake Fluid. I only use Motul Products in my 250R. Clean burning with a clean sweet smell.

I have had good results running mobile 1 in other types of engines and that is what I run in all my engines with the expection of my xj1200 which all of the engine builders recomend some other fancy type of oil that I got talked into running.

Honda HP 2 @ 32:1 with 110 octane gas. My friend swears by Castor 927, with the same mix ratio and gas I use, and his bikes always run great too. I think as long as u get a good oil and stick with it and use good gas, you should be fine.

alls there is around where i live is this penziol or waht ever it is crap!

where can you get that high of an octane gas (110) the highest here is (92)

do you have to do anythnig special to your engine to run that hogh of octane

Hmmm, Ive never seen Pennzoil premix oil... I probly wouldnt use it iether, Im not a fan of any kind of Pennzoil product.

There are lots of places to get race gas around here. Most motorcycle shops sell it by the 5 gal can, although it is expensive to buy it that way. I buy it from one of 2 local places that sell it from the pump, the price is a little better and it goes straight into my jug where I mix it up and pour it into the bike. Every time I pour it from the metal cans I end up spilling it everywhere and I dont like to waste it cause its so expensive! ($5.65 a gallon when I filled my jugs before my Turkey day trip).

As far as the engines, they are stock. The extra octane is probably overkill, but the engines always run great and the gas burns cleaner than pump gas, and with the extra octane I dont worry about the engines pinging when Im riding in the desert heat. I think the engines will last longer with good gas and rebuilds are expensive, so I dont mind paying the high price of the gas.

I agree with const42 AMSOIL 100-1 synthetic "the best"

Klotz synthetic but I will try Blue Marble for my next tank (since it is for a moped I only need about a quart every 500 miles).

I agree Double D,
I've been riding a long time, in some of the worst conditions (a 125 desert racer) here in So Cal. I've tried a lot of different oils and always come back to Golden Spectro. It burns clean and I've NEVER lost and engine due to lubrication problem with it.

Klotz super techniplate at 32:1 in my CR. i dog the motor around quite a bit, and i havent fouled a plug yet. smells great, and havent had any issues in any 2 stroke yet. great stuff, and people always comment on the smell, and many are like YOU RUN KLOTZ!

Maxima Castor 927 from Spring through early Fall.

Klotz R-50 in winter.

Side note:
I bought a brand new (left over fresh from the crate that day)'86 Tri-Z in 1987. I used maybe 2 bottles of Yamalube, then pretty much what I could buy within 25 miles of my little hometown....which was Castrol 2-cycle premix. Smelled like crap and at the time only cost about $2+ a quart. I mixed it at 20:1 for the entire time I had the Z, and would you believe it ran on the ORIGINAL spark plug until 1992! That plug-foul was due to my over-richening the jetting for the new DG exhaust/reeds/K&N.

It got it's first topend re-build in 1994 when the next owner did it.

Don't know if that speaks more of Yamaha quality or Castrol's oil quality.

I used to run royal purple but after my bro blew up two bikes, we switched to klotz.
Klotz is almost like honey, and it takes awhile to separate. Smells good too.

Bel-Ray MC1, Motor stays clean as a whistle with just about any synthetic.
