has anyone built their own forge for heating metal? Ive been thinkin of doing this and was wondering if anyone had any good ideas or pics.

if you look you can pick up antique forges for about 100 bucks that work and use foot power for air

I've got a book that shows how to make one using a used brake drum....I just moved so all my books are in boxes and I really don't know which box. If this is the size of fire pot you were thinking of, I'll keep my eyes open for the book and I will try to scan the article for you.

I used to do a lot of aluminum casting at home. A forge is a piece of cake. Charcoal, a flower pot, and a shop vac.
