nice CL score!!

put a wanted add up for some fenders. had been searching for awhile on ebay and craigs, but the shipping made tough as i wasnt looking to spend a ton, just wanted some riders so i wouldnt have to worry about the oem's this winter. after about a week and a half i get an email from a guy 20 mins away, hes got a whole set for 60.00. Went and met him at a mc d's. very happy. I did spend about 2 hrs scubbing them with soft scrub as they were pretty grimmie. guy sold the quad yrs ago, and these were sitting out in the shed. crack free other than theleft front has 2 small ones. i am almost positive the hood is an oem 88. can anyone verify. no idea why the whole was cut in it. the guy didnt either.

Nice friggin score man! That's exactly what I'm looking for for mine. Pretty sure the OEM hood did not have the vent scoops in it though.

thanks, i looked on service honda, and it does show the vents in the drawing, plus it has the part # on the underside.

that hood looks like my black maier 88/89 on my 300ex

Those are all maier plastics and not oem....still an ok price.

got a red 88 hood that is oem .same condition as what you got there , if you want one without the hole let me know

it has this part # molded on the underside. 61700-HB9-7700. Pretty sure that is a honda part #. dont think maier and honda use the same #'s. Thanks fmnrd, i really have no use for the hood as i have an 86, and im going to use a white hood. Just want to be certain of the make before i get rid of it. I am in need of some 10" front rims though.

I have 89 hood on my 86 trx looks a lot better BUT the 86 87 Light set up is better .Light turns with the bars . vs the 88 89 that is a little slower catching up to the direction of your turn :make sense ? Love my TRX! +2 arms , +2 west coast swinger , ect ,ect

Notice how the ''vent'' holes on the front fenders on the CL fenders are not open. And the rears don't have the NO PASSENGERS warning cast into them.

They are definitely not oem.

I belive then new maier 250r fenders have some suporting ribs on the front fenders....those might be oldschool maiers.

OK, I thought you meant the fenders had the number.

You might be sick to your stomach if I told you I payed $50 for nice OEM plastics with a real carbon fiber hood, Clark tank and a complete seat that matches the graphic kit for my R...lol

very true set of words there man!! this deal was killer though believe me, i been searching for 8 months, and nearly spent 5-6 times that on quite a few occasions. Glad i'm a tight ass lol. plus i got a blank canvas to work with. White vented 86 style hood, gotta find a seat now, and a tank cover if i want to do away with the red.
