View Full Version : Lt 80 reed help please

Have any of you guys changed out reeds on a lt80 ?My Daughters bike died out at glamis a few weeks ago . I went through carb ,ect and still will not fire .A friend said it may need new reeds as it is a 91 model and never they have been changed out..Can anybody tell me how much of a job this is .If you can give a quick do this ,then this then this ,type instructions that would be great

The reeds should be a snap to replace. Remove the carb and air box. The reed cage is right there.You pull the hole cage out. Once the reed cage is out you should be able to see how them come unscrewed. It should be very easy to do. Its just a matter how many things are blocking you to get in there.

Did you check to make sure your air filter and exhaust is not clogged up.

shouldn't beto hard... are you shure you are getting fuel, I had a petcock go bad on mine, and it wouold not let fuel through, they are vaccuum operated , you can swap them out for one on a Banshee, bolts right up and no more diaphram.
