I've got a 763 skidsteer that I've owned for several years. It has about 2200 hrs. About a year ago the tilt spool in the main valve body went to leaking and I did the awful task of building it. It wasnt a few months later it went to leaking again. Anyone who's delt with these knows how hard it is to work down in the machine. Im hopeing to find a member who can help. Here is a pic http://i947.photobucket.com/albums/ad314/3ordie/firewood/SS852350.jpg

Thanx Bill

I have worked on tons of skid steers, they are a pain in the ass..I can't see pictures from photobucket, the sight is blocked. Are you blowing o-rings or something? Have you done any pressure testing or load testing?

might want to see if you can locate high pressure o-rings or seals. They are usually green. Have you pulled the spool out and looked at it to make sure its not scarred or any metal or something. You ay have a scratch on the spool that is cutting into your seal or leasking past it when its actuated. Also if you have a relief valve set improperly you may be over pressurizing the circut. A lot of times when people increase pressure this type of thing happens. I would do a load test on the circut. You can increase the pressure some, but too much and you will get leaks. If the stock pressure isn't enough for the application, then you gotta look at getting a bigger machine.

I have replaced seals in spool valves only to have them leak again. It was the spool and the bore that were too far out of spec. I was NOT replacing the bore (casting) you may also want to check the pressure entering the spool valve as it may be high. I have an adjustment for overall pressure, so cylinders don't get bent/blown etc etc.

I hope the casting is ok, the part is around a grand..Crazy. Thanx

My skidder has the same problem, as dc said, its the bore on the valve bank itself that is the culprit. Ive replaced the orings twice, second time worked better since i used "square" edge o rings and have gotten the leaking down to about a quart every 40 hrs of use. The square orings have more surface area. It sucks because even if i wanted to replace the valve section at the last list price of $1450, there is not a single one anywhere to be found.
Try going to a hydraulic shop and see if you can get some of them square orings, of you cant find any, pm me, ive got acess to them.

They are called D rings and a Caterpillar dealer will have about any size you need.
