This is 20 minutes from the house. A rebuilt CR for how much? Is this a joke?

Guy is completely out of his mind. I thought at first he had a brand new bike, never run. All that is is a rebuilt CR 500. If that's worth 30k then TecateDan's Tecate should be worth the same.

Well, I know where a few pieces of a late 1940s red cub are, maybe I can sell a couple bolts and half a seat for $20,000 a piece!

Man, gotta like how cocky the guy was though, I'd like to step into that unreal world, lol. But I am very disappointed in the replies from the members. I really thought someone would come up with something much more catchy or funny. C'mon fellas, something witty here, huh?

I think everyone here is busy buying up every '89 CR500 they can find. How could you possibly go wrong?

According to the ad, he spent $4,000 fixing it up, now it's worth at least $30,000 and will eventually hit $100,000. This is clearlly a 100% fool-proof way to become a Mega-Millionaire!

just sent a long message asking how the price is justfied?? say its a $3,000 bike to start then add a $4,000 restore =$7,000 this is something anyone with $7,000 could do so why is his bike worth $15-45k???? very interested to see how he can explain this to me

because its "museum quality" even though the motor has been rebuilt, the fork tubes have nicks and you can bet the swingarm is scratched/gouged.

love how it is muesum quality but has a bored out top end, pro circuit pipe and he never spilt the cases...reminds me of my 89 cr,i miss her

silngeblade. don't say like that 26k is not much bigger than his likeliness for this bike. let him make his own decision. don't go for the dollars only

Well good job swifty. Folks this has to be done. Far to many people are becoming more and more stupid in this world and reverse evolution is running rampant. We need to point out, correct and discern the idiot people bringing society's I.Q. to a dangerously unsurvivable level before it's to late.

I think it is a good sign that people are smart enough not to fall for this. I just can't believe he is trying to make it out to be an OEM NOS style auction when he clearly states that the bike is used and the lower end of the engine is unrestored. Oh yeah, not the stock bore either. And never mind the aftermarket plastic that you can buy for cheap.

Just wait, some idiot will pay 30k for it and we will all be eating crow.

If he was a scammer, we could trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro and complain and run him down. The scary thing is, I think he believes the crap he is saying to be true and valid. There is just no help for that.

"If it was in the crate it would go for more than 30K" -- "I'm guessing it will bring in the lower 30k range".

I got a chuckle out of that part.

Guess I should have kept my 93 CR250 - Claimed it was the only chassis Jeremy McGrath would run; I'd be 25K richer :D

I do miss the bike, what power and fun and any hill was right at your throttle hand. A few broken bones later, I dumped it and got an ATC250R that I hit the backhoe with in front of then "girlfriend"; I stick with 4 pokes now............... It's the best safety I know :D

if he sold it why does he still have it up for sale? my KTM was a 2000 250EXC, now I'm not going to do the math at how much newer my bike was, how much more advanced and most likely just as fast, but I sold mine for $1900. so if this is like a classic mustang I would understand the change in value of old vs new, but this is simply a restored "used" bike, maybe restored isnt the right word for it, more like rebuilt. my 85 250r will be "rebuilt" soon, so what does that put the value of that at? im gonna try and sell it for $4k, any takers, i'll even post it on ebay for the world to bid on...lol
