View Full Version : Just picked up 85 and 86 250sx what can i do to them

just bought a 1985 and 1986 250sx what can I do to make them better, faster, cooler, ect. I already have a trx300 engine ready to go in. I was wondering about the 200x front fork conversion and any other cool tidbits or ideas. I am also looking for a 350x front lamp asy but from what I have heard they are hard to find

You will need the 300 wiring, and the 250 output shaft to work in the three wheeler frame.

The front end mod requires welding on a new steering stop, and grinding off the old ones.

the 300 conversion is a done deal I have the motor harness ect I have a 1989 trx300 complete less a rear diff. What is the advantage of the 200X front end grinding and welding is not a problem

Crate them up and send them to me. You dont want to do all that work.

I can work year round, by the way how is the weather in Pennsylvania do your trikes have snow plows

:D200x has disc brakes and better susp. :cool: i would go for it , but a clean stock 250sx is worth more than a modded one :idea:, so maybe one modded one stock , :) good luck

Oldtime has one on his BR. I have a '57 Farmall 130 with a plow. Right now the road out front looks like a skating rink, cars (idiots) are sliding all over. I love how they turn the hazards on, they shouldnt even be out there. On the good side, it'll be frozen enough to run on tomorrow.

The 86 I would try and keep it stock and work up to the best original condition you could as the 86's had some upgrades from Honda that makes it more desirable in my opinion. The 85 I would go with the 200X front end, as mentioned above you gain the disc brakes but also you gain some travel length compared to the stock front suspension. So if they were mine I would mod out the 85 all the way and keep the 86 stock! Have fun with whatever you do!

NICE! Like the headlights too! Honda should have done that!!!
