You can use an image hosting site, which basically uploads your image to a location where you can use a link to post it wherever you want to. I use ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us/) to host all of my images. If you Register, it's free, and you can store all your photos in one convenient place (there is an upload limit per upload though with the free account).

Click on the "Browse" button, then find your images. For multiple uploads, click an image, then hold CTRL on your keyboard to select multiples, then click "Open". Once your image(s) have been selected, you will want to make sure they are an appropriate size for the forums- 800x600 pixels is the normal, so click on the "Uploads Options/Resizing >>" link and then select the option in the drop down window that says "800x600 (15-inch monitor)". Now all you have to do is click the big blue "UPLOAD NOW" button.

Once it takes you to your image, click on the "Direct Link" and copy it, then paste it here. Once you have your image link posted, you then need to wrap it in IMG tags to make it show up as an image, rather than a link.

Here is the raw image link to an image I uploaded:

http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/9830/img5882p.jpg

Now wrapped in IMG tags:

Now remove the spaces around it:

Tada!

If you selected multiple images, then when it takes you to that page with them, click on the bubble with the letter "i" in it, which will show you all of the link codes- use the link that says "Direct".

That's basically how you upload images. Sounds complex, but so does everything at first ;)
